Hayes Has a Growing Offer Sheet

Justice Hayes is one of the best running backs in the Midwest and he is starting to pile up the scholarship offers. The standout athlete from Grand Blanc High School (Grand Blanc, Mich.) recently landed an Irish offer and he's expecting more to come his way.

Notre Dame only signed one running back with the 2010 recruiting class, so they're going to want to grab a couple with the 2011 class and one of their top targets is Justice Hayes (5-foot-11, 185-pounds)

"I get a lot of mail. I pretty much keep in touch with coach Martin, the defensive back coach," Hayes said. "He lets me know that he really wants me to come down for the junior day on March 20th. I'm really looking forward to going down there. It's one of the schools that I'm highly interested in and I want to evaluate them to see if it's the right school for me. They definitely have a great education and great exposure and just the great tradition that Notre Dame has. Like I said I want to evaluate them further and see how it goes.

"When I talked to coach Martin, he let me know that he was a coach at Grand Valley State. They're a Division II school, but I didn't know that he was the head coach. He just told me that he was familiar with my school, he knew about my head coach, and that we've had a lot of great players that came out of my school. I have a good vibe that he's a great coach and that they really want me at Notre Dame."

Notre Dame definitely would like to land Hayes in the 2011 recruiting class. The Irish extended him an offer a couple weeks ago and Justice's offer list continues to grow.

"I called coach Martin, and he said that coach Kelly was looking for big-time talent," Hayes explained. "He needs that right now, because he needs to get Notre Dame off on the right foot and be a contender for a championship right now. Notre Dame doesn't play around. Notre Dame is a high-powered program that's use to having success and winning championships. He asked me where I'd like to play. I told them that I'd like to play running back, but wherever they'd like me to play, I'll play.

"I have 11 scholarship offers and I'm waiting for more. Notre Dame, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Wisconsin are the main ones. I have more, but those are some of the schools that I want to take a peek at and the schools that stand out more than the others."

Hayes has already gotten a peek at a handful of schools, and Notre Dame is next in line.

"I went to Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Iowa, and of course I'm going to be down in South Bend next month," he said. "I plan on going to see a few more schools. I'm pretty sure more schools are going to offer me. At this point in the recruiting process I kind of know what schools are talking about and when they're going to offer me.

"I'm getting interest from USC and they're saying the same things that schools that have already offered me have said. UCLA, Ohio State and some bigger schools are starting to show interest in me. It's going to be tough to decide which school that I'm going to go to, but Notre Dame is definitely one of the top schools."
