Top Cornerback Will Visit ND

Albert Louis-Jean from Brockton High School (Mass.) is the No. 10 ranked cornerback in the nation by Scout.com, and he's starting to build a strong list of scholarship offers. Notre Dame has extended Louis-Jean an offer as well and he's going to take a visit to South Bend this month.

Albert Louis-Jean (6-foot-1, 170-pounds) is one of the top cornerbacks in the country and he's one of Notre Dame's recruiting targets for the 2011 recruiting class.

"I'm not sure how they heard about me, but I received mail from them so I contacted them last week," Louis-Jean said. "I talked to coach Kelly, and he said that they were going to offer me a scholarship.

"They're going to recruit me as a cornerback. They watched my film and said that I'm a good player and the sky is the limit for me. They said that I'm the type of player that fits into the Notre Dame football program and that they'd like me to help them win a national championship.

Notre Dame has struggle to stay in the upper echelon of college football over the past 15 years, but Louis-Jean is certainly willing to take a look at the Irish based on what he has heard from his dad.

"In the era that I've been watching football Notre Dame hasn't been great," he explained. "But in the past they've had great teams and sent a lot of players to the NFL. My dad explained everything to me. Notre Dame is a great school coupled with their academics and after seeing what Brian Kelly did at Cincinnati, they're on their way to great things, so I'm excited.

"I should be going up there on March 20 for their junior day. I'm coming out with my dad and my uncle probably. I've been to a few campuses and every one is a little different. I want to see Notre Dame's campus and see the atmosphere on their campus. I want to see the lifestyle and hopefully talk to a few of the players.

Louis-Jean has scholarship offers from Boston College, Miami, Rutgers, Maryland, Vanderbilt, UConn, Syracuse, and Penn State. He's also hearing from other top schools like Florida, Alabama, Michigan, USC, Pitt, North Carolina, Clemson and N.C. State.

"I have medium interest in Notre Dame like every other school," Louis-Jean said. "I'm interested in looking at every school, and I‘m not playing any favorites yet. It's very early in the process and I haven't been to all the schools to see if I'd actually want to go to the school there. If i can I'd like to get to every school that has offered me.

"There really is no timeframe for me. I just want to go to these schools and see their campuses, and talk to their coaches in person. Whenever I feel real sure about a school, that's when I'll make my decision."
