Irish Expect Beyer to Visit

Brian Kelly and his staff continue to demonstrate that recruiting will not be an issue while they're at Notre Dame. You can now add linebacker Brennen Beyer from Plymouth High School (Canton, Mich.) to the growing list of prospects that will be in town for the March 20 junior day.

Brennen Beyer (6-foot-4, 215-pounds) has been interested in Notre Dame, but it wasn't until recently that he heard from the Irish.

"It has been since the new coaching staff was hired," Beyer responded when asked about his contact with Notre Dame. "They came and visited me at my school, so that's when I kind of showed up on their radar. I've emailed their coaches, and called them, and after a little bit they offered me.

"I think they're a great school; it's Notre Dame and they have a great reputation, so I'm interested in them. I really don't know too much about Notre Dame from an inside point of view, I've just watched them on TV. Once I get to go there for the junior day and I get to see it with my own eyes, I'll have a better understanding. I wanted to get out there a little earlier, but I couldn't, so I told them that I'd be there for the junior day.

"They think I'm going to be real helpful on defense," he said. "They think I can play one of the linebacker-defensive end hybrid positions, they think I'm a really good fit for it.

Beyer has scholarship offers from Toledo, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Stanford UCLA, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt and he's hoping to add a few more in the coming weeks.

"I visited Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State," Beyer said. "I'm still getting offers, so I'm still assessing where I should go out and visit, but I don't know all the schools that I'll get out to.

"I don't want to drag the process out, so I think I want to have a decision by my senior year." Top Stories
