Irish Will Keep an Eye On Hogan

Kevin Hogan from Gonzaga College High School (Washington D.C.) is one of a number of quarterbacks that the Notre Dame staff is still evaluating for the 2011 recruiting class. Hogan was in town on Saturday for the Irish junior day and he may make a return trip to Notre Dame this summer.

Kevin Hogan (6-foot-4, 200-pounds) has a couple family members that have played for the Irish and his sister is currently a senior at Notre Dame, so he already knows about the school. What he didn't know heading into the junior day weekend was where he stood with the Notre Dame coaching staff in terms of a scholarship offer.

"It was a good experience," Hogan said. "I got to meet the new coaches. I meet coach Molnar, coach Cooks, and coach Kelly. It was nice to meet the new staff and get a feel for what they're going to do.

"They said that they like me, but they said that they're only going to take one quarterback, which is understandable, because they took three in the last class. They said that they're going to keep an eye on me and see how it goes.

"I wasn't really expecting an offer, so I was just happy to meet the staff," he added.

Although the Irish didn't extend an offer to Hogan, they are certainly going to stay in touch with him. And if Hogan is still available in June, he may make a return trip to South Bend for the Irish summer football camp.

"I got to talk to coach Molnar," Hogan explained. "He said that he liked what I was able to do, so that was good to hear. I talked to coach Kelly for a little bit. He said that he liked my film and that they were going to continue to recruit me.

"If I haven't committed and if I'm still looking, I'll camp at a few places, and one of them might be Notre Dame." Top Stories
