Irish Odds For 2011

Where do the Irish stand with some of the prospects in which they've been in hot pursuit? We look at six prospects and give you the odds of each signing with the Irish.

As offers continue to come out of the Notre Dame Football offices for players across the country. Where do the Irish stand with six very high profile players? We break it down and give you our best thoughts of what these recruits are going to do.

QB - Braxton Miller – Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne has placed Miller as the top quarterback in the class and for good reason. The Irish staff has worked hard trying to get the Ohio native on campus for a visit but at this time Miller has not taken them up. Right now it's looking more than ever that Miller is a heavy favorite for Ohio State to sign. Miller has also not visited Florida or any other program and many feel he's set and just waiting for when he feels the time is right. If the Irish can get him to at least visit they'll have a chance to be in the running. But things don't look to be headed that way. Team To Beat: Ohio State

LB – Trey DePriest – Springfield (Ohio)

DePriest and Miller are best friends but while some feel the two are a package it looks more like each have taken the road of finding what is best for them. DePriest visited the Irish for their Junior Day and came away impressed. But according to his high school assistant coach it's a two team race between Alabama and Ohio State. There is still hope and some talk that DePriest will make a return trip with his mother. If this happens it will give the Irish a chance but don't hold your breath. Team To Beat: Ohio State

S - Eilar Hardy – Pickerington (Ohio) Central

Hardy also visited the Irish during their Junior Day and came away impressed. If he could have signed on his visit his parents would have signed the papers. But that is not how it works and the jury is still out on the Irish chances of signing the 4-star prospect. While Hardy has an impressive offer sheet this is looking to be a battle between Michigan State and the Irish. Hardy plans on making a return trip to see if he'll fit in on campus. This will be the trip that will make or break the Irish. Team To Beat: Michigan State

DL/OL – Tony Springmann – Fort Wayne (IN) Bishop Dwenger

As Irish Eyes reported on Saturday this looks like it will end next weekend during Springmann's visit for the Irish spring game. The Irish offer came at the right time to turn Springmann's head and is an offer I'm sure the Irish staff is pushing for this one to end early. Team To Beat: Notre Dame

DT – Michael Bennett – Centerville (Ohio)

Bennett is a guy the Irish felt they could really get with his high academics and talk of being a doctor. But Bennett talks more about Northwestern and Ohio State right now and things are not looking as good as the Irish thought it would be at this stage in the process. The pull from Ohio State is really pulling Bennett to stay home and be a Buckeye. Team To Beat: Ohio State

OLB – Jarrett GraceCincinnati (Ohio) Colerain

Grace is a player the staff that came from Cincinnati has built a solid relationship with over the past year. While some may feel Grace is looking to stay home at Cincinnati others feel he could be an Irish pledge by the end of next weekend. Talk is that Grace will have several members of his family with him for the spring game and this could mean the final piece in his recruitment. Team To Beat: Notre Dame Top Stories
