Garrett Waiting On ND

Justin Garrett has been to Notre Dame a couple times to watch his brother suit up for the Irish, but his recent visit for the Notre Dame spring game had the added benefit of a recruiting trip. The safety from Tucker High School (Ga.) has a number of scholarship offers from top schools and he's likely to add Notre Dame to that list.

Justin Garrett (6-foot-2, 195-pounds) came to the Blue-Gold game to watch his brother, Jamoris Slaughter suit up for the Irish, but he also was also invited up for an unofficial visit by the Notre Dame coaching staff.

"(The visit) went okay," Garrett responded when asked about his unofficial visit. "I've gone up there a few times for the spring games to see my brother. I've been there in the fall when he was being recruited.

"Notre Dame is recruiting a little bit for linebacker and safety. They talked about a scholarship offer, but they said that they want to have their defensive coordinator to come down and see me in action and move around.

"I've only really talked to coach Elston and he's a pretty nice guy."

With his Jamoris completing his second year at Notre Dame, most would think that he'd be pushing Justin to come to South Bend, but that isn't necessarily the case.

"He said that it's nice and it a good education up there," Garrett said. "He hasn't said too much. He just told me to make my own decision and he told me I should go where I want to go.

"Right now, I'm really just I'm just sitting back, but I'd probably (like to commit) midway through the summer."

Garrett has roughly ten scholarship offers from schools such as Alabama, Georgia, UCF, North Carolina State, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Purdue. Top Stories
