Notre Dame is still looking for defensive backs to add to their 2011 recruiting class and Jared Henry (6-foot-0, 180-pounds) has caught their attention. Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco recently stopped by to take a look at Henry during the May evaluation period.
"Things are going pretty good with them, but I don't think they have offered me yet," Henry said. "They came to one of my spring practices and we talk every now and then. Coach Diaco said that they need to see my hip rotation and see if I can cover the field, that's why they want me to come to camp. Hopefully I'm going to get up there sometime this summer, but I'll have to see, because I have two or three other unofficial visits this summer and it all depends on my parent's schedule."
Henry does hold seven scholarship offers and if the Irish decide to extend an offer, he understands the value of a Notre Dame education.
"What I do know, which is probably the most important thing is, that once you leave the school that job opportunities open up to you and I know the academics are really good there," he said. "Right now I'm focusing on South Carolina, UCF and Maryland. Those are my top-3 right now and possibly Notre Dame is they offered.
"I haven't really visited any campuses yet, but I know for a fact that I'll going to South Carolina and UCF this summer."
