Irish Surprise Roberson With Offer

Marcus Roberson and his St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) teammates are just finishing spring practice, but Roberson isn't planning to rush into recruiting.

With scholarship offers from Florida, Illinois, Miami, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Purdue, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCF and Western Michigan, cornerback Marcus Roberson (6-foot-0, 175-pounds) has a lot of research that will need to go into his decision. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean that he's going to rush his recruitment either.

"I didn't take any visits this spring," Roberson said. "I'm not really thinking about that. It's spring football. I'll probably wait until to the summer before I think about what schools that I want to go visit.

"I have 11 scholarship offers, but everybody is equal."

Notre Dame would like to get in line now for one of his visits. The Irish recently offered Marcus and he may be considering a trip to South Bend if the stars align.

"I just got their offer two days ago," he said. "It's nice that Notre Dame offered me. I haven't talked to any of the coaches or anything.

"I'm going to try to take a visit up there, it just depends on whether I can get someone to go up there with me. I really don't know much about the school, but I plan to take a visit up there."

Roberson will likely take all of his official visits in the fall and make his decision after his senior season. Top Stories
