Anthony Chickillo (6-foot-3, 230-pounds) has the size and speed to play outside linebacker in Notre Dame's ‘3-4' defense. He's one of the top defensive targets for Brian Kelly and his staff and they've been communicating that fact with Anthony.
"I had a good talk with coach Alford and he told me that that they want me real bad and that I'm a big priority for them," Chickillo said. "We email each other, so we stay in contact on a regular basis. I'm going to get out there this summer and visit the school. I don't know when I'll get there, but I know that it's one of the schools that I want visit."
While the Notre Dame trip is tentative at this time, Anthony already has firm plans to check-in on several top programs while other like the Irish will have to wait to see when they will get their turn to host him.
"We just finished spring ball last week, it went good," Chickillo said. "We played our spring game against Leto High School (Fla.) and we won. So, I'm just working out and getting ready for summer workouts and working on my training right now.
"We finish up school June 10 and then I think that first week I'm going to go down to Miami and then I'll start visiting other schools from there. I'm going to try to visit every school in Florida again.
"I'm going to visit USC for their ‘Camping with the Stars' football camp. That camp is June 22 and that should be fun. I just love competing and getting better. The only way to get better is to go where the competition is and that's where the competition goes. While I'm out there, I'll probably get out to UCLA and maybe a few other schools."
