Wujciak Talks ND

Connor Wujciak from Seton Hall Preparatory School (West Orange, N.J.) has been on Notre Dame's recruiting radar for a while, but he had to wait until last week to land an Irish scholarship offer.

Notre Dame's former coaching staff had been sending Connor Wujciak recruiting material, but it wasn't until the recent May evaluation period that Brian Kelly and his staff got serious about recruiting Connor.

"During the visitation period coach Diaco stopped by and things picked up from there," Wujciak said. "It was cool to get the offer, but I wasn't waiting by my mailbox. I was pumped to get it.

Connor has been to the Notre Dame campus, but that was when he was in third grade. A lot has change for both Connor and Notre Dame's campus since that time, so he is planning to make a return visit at some point this summer.

"I'll get there, but I don't have tentative date set up," Wujciak explained. "I'll probably get out to see some other schools as well. I'm not sure who that will be, but I've already been out to see Maryland, Boston College Rutgers and Pittsburgh.

Connor's dad played along the offensive line at Notre Dame, and his older brother Alex will be a senior linebacker at Maryland. But like most families that have someone sorting through the recruiting process, they want Connor to make his own decision.

"My brother and I've talked about (recruiting) gradually, but not too much," Connor said. "He's just told me to go where I feel comfortable. I don't see when location would be a big deal. My brother said regardless of where you are, you're not home too much anyway. "
