Hardy Is Going Camping

Eilar Hardy from Pickerington High School (Pickerington, Ohio) wasn't able to make it to Notre Dame this spring to watch the Irish practice, so he's planning to take an unofficial visit this month in order meet some players and to get a better feel for the campus.

Eilar Hardy (6-foot-0, 170-pounds) recently named six schools that have started to separate themselves from his list of offers; Michigan State, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Kentucky and Arizona. Eliar visited Notre Dame for a junior day back in March, but he wasn't able to see everything that he wanted to see, so he's planning on taking a trip back to South Bend in June.

"We're still on good terms," Hardy responded when asked about his contact with Notre Dame. "I still talk to the coaches about every week. so we're just building our relationship and going from there.

"I really didn't get to see much when I was up there last, so me and my dad are going up there with one of my coaches. There's a camp June 18-19 and my coach is working up there.

"I want to get a feel for the whole campus, not just the little part that I saw" he said. "Coach Hinton said that he was going to introduce me to some of the players and so that I could see if I could fit in. I want to meet with some of their players and get a chance to see why they decided to go to Notre Dame over other schools that they had offers from.

"I just want to get up there and see how I feel about the campus. When I was up there I didn't get a good fell for what they campus life is like outside of football. When I go up there I want to see what the students and the players think about it.

Notre Dame is recruiting a number of tall cornerback, but Hardy isn't certain where he fits in Notre Dame's plans.

"To be honest, I'm not too sure," Hardy said. "They're telling me that I could come up there and help them out pretty early. I don't know if that is at safety or cornerback. I could play either one, so it doesn't matter to me."
