Brandon Phelps (6-foot-1, 175-pound ) is one of Notre Dame's top recruiting targets at cornerback, but his contact with the Irish has been limited since the May evaluation period. Despite that, he still have a high level of interest in the Irish.
"Not in a while," Phelps responded when asked if he had spoken with the Notre Dame coaching staff recently. "But when they were able to call and stop by the school, I talked to coach Molnar. Other than that, I haven't really gotten a chance to talk to them lately."
"I'm definitely still interested in them though. Hopefully I'll be able to visit there this summer, come see the campus, meet the coaching staff, meet some of the people and some of the players. Just get to know everyone better."
Two of the nation's top programs have taken interest in Brandon. One has offered, while the other is likely considering it.
"Alabama was probably the biggest offer I've received lately," Phelps said. "They're the defending national champs. It would be pretty big being a part of something like that.
"I've been in contact with Florida, but they haven't offered me yet."
Phelps does plan on taking a number of unofficial visits this summer, but those plans are still in the works.
"I'm not too sure of where I'll visit yet," he said. "I don't have any favorites. I haven't made a list of the schools I like in order. I need to sit down with my parents and talk about everything.
"My goal is to take all these visits and then later in the summer narrow down my list of schools and then have a decision before the start of my senior season."
