Thorpe: "Anything Is Possible"

T.J. Thorpe is still committed to North Carolina, but he is also considering taking all of his official visits. The safety prospect from C. E. Jordan High School (Durham, N.C.) has several schools he is considering for those visits, and Notre Dame is one of them.

T.J. Thorpe (6-foot-0, 180-pounds) isn't necessarily wavering on his commitment to the North Carolina Tar Heels, but he is making sure he's prepared in case some unforeseen incident happens down the line.

"It's a solid verbal, but the thing is, things change and you never know what will happen," Thorpe said. "Unless I'm extremely wowed by anything and my parents are crazy over a certain school, its unlikely that I'll change. I don't think I would change my commitment, but I guess anything is possible.

"I am going to take all of my official visits; Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, Notre Carolina and either Clemson or Virginia.

"Even if I don't go to these schools you can always learn from somebody at any point in time. I want to build a relationship with the coaches, so if something were to happen and I wanted to look at their school some more that I'd already have a base to build from."

Lately Thorpe has been trying to focus on being prepared for his senior season, but he does try to keep up in touch with the coaching staffs at each of the schools that are still under consideration.

"Right now I'm focusing on my team," he said. "We're not real experienced right now, so I'm much more focused on them than I am about my recruiting.

"Whenever I get some downtime, I try to give the Notre Dame coaches a call. I talked with coach Elston about two weeks ago to check in on them and see how things were going with them as far as recruiting and everything." Top Stories
