"I've very familiar with some of the coaches from their time at Cincinnati," Bolden said on Wednesday. "I know they knew of me last year and I knew about them from going to some games at Cincinnati. I felt they were going to offer me at Cincinnati but Coach Kelly got the Notre Dame job. So I felt it was important to go up there so they could see me. I know they've seen my highlight tape, but I wanted them to see me in person."
While the results have not come in for Bolden yet from Notre Dame, he knows having the chance to earn an Irish offer is something he's looking to do.
"Notre Dame is just amazing. The campus is great. I've been up there five or six times in my life and it just keeps getting better and better. If Notre Dame would offer me, they'd be in my Top 3 right now."
Already holding an offer from Cincinnati, Bolden knows pledging Irish would be a dream come true.
"I went up there with Jarrett for the USC game and Notre Dame has always been a university I liked and dreamed about going to. The university has a great graduation rate and that is something I'm really looking hard at. A Notre Dame degree can open a lot of doors."
What has the Notre Dame staff said about an offer?
"Right now Notre Dame has a couple of linebackers and they are looking for a couple of more. I spoke with Coach Hinton and he said they really like me, so I'm very excited about that. Right now I think they are looking at me for the inside but I'm not 100% sure. We'll just have to see what happens."
Other programs showing interest in Bolden include Ohio State, Northwestern and many others. While he likes both programs he knows earning a Notre Dame offer is something he might not be able to pass up.
"I can see myself fitting in at Notre Dame. I like the other programs but I can't say they'd be in my Top 3 if they offered. Notre Dame is the only school I can say that about."
Irish Eyes will continue to follow Joe as he continues to look for his Notre Dame offer.
