In the new Notre Dame defense Rabasa can lineup on the edge with his hand down or jump inside when they bring a linebacker to the edge. You could also see Rabasa take a step back into a standup linebacker spot.
What To Like
Intensity and effort are keys in the new defense at Notre Dame. Anthony Rabasa already shows the ability and willingness to bring it on every play. While some will look at his 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame and question his size, I can't as I know what Paul Longo and the Irish strength staff will do with a player like Anthony. After a year with Longo don't be surprised to see a 240-250-pound monster ready to wreck havoc.
What May Concern You
Right now I can't say Anthony shows great explosion off the line. He does a great job of coming off the line, but shows more of a knack to breakdown to make a tackle. This is coachable and will be quickly fixed on the field and in the weight room.
This is a great get for Brian Kelly and the Irish staff. Pulling a Florida kid out of the state that held offers from the "Big 3" is no easy task. But it's what Anthony Rabasa will do on the field that has to make you very excited if you're a Notre Dame fan. This kid will have a chance to help Notre Dame have a strong future in the coming years.
