Scout.com 4-star defensive end prospect Aaron Lynch has all the tools to make Notre Dame football coaches extremely happy. At 6-foot-6, 255-pounds, Lynch has the physical size and athletic ability to be a major player during his Irish career. This was the reason the Irish coaching staff worked overtime in getting his pledge.

What To Like

No matter who you talk with about Aaron Lynch you get the same response. Everyone who has seen the Cape Coral (FL) Island Coast High School defensive end feels he's headed towards a great college career. Irish Eyes has the same view of Lynch as he's got the physical size and athletic ability to post major numbers in the Irish 3-4 defense. Capable of playing a hand down defensive end or even move into a stand-up defensive end/outside linebacker make him a player capable of creating havoc and posting some huge defensive numbers.

What May Concern You

This has been a hard fought battle and while it's great to feel good about the verbal pledge, college football fans know nothing is solid until the ink dries on a letter of intent in February. Even with his pledge to the Irish public knowledge, don't think for a minute Florida State will stop recruiting him. This will be the story line to watch with Lynch until it's officially announced he's signed with Notre Dame.

Right now this was the icing on the cake to a great recruiting weekend for Brian Kelly. But don't think for a minute he's ready to rest as he's still got spots to fill. Aaron Lynch was a hard fought battle and one that Kelly and his staff knew they could win.
