Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:41:34 PM)
Hi Brian!

Susan (Mar 26, 2003 4:41:36 PM)
Hello Brian

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:41:38 PM)
Hello

Hubbard (Mar 26, 2003 4:41:44 PM)
Hi Brian

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:41:49 PM)
Hi everyone

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 4:41:57 PM)
Hi Brian.

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:42:20 PM)
Brian, to start off, how did things go at the camp you just attended in NV?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:43:12 PM)
It went really well, it was a pro combine, and the Pelfreys asked if I wanted to attend and get some private lessons in with them, and also get some experience from the older guys.

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:43:37 PM)
I was kicking very well considering I can not kick up in Cleveland for a few more weeks

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:44:02 PM)
What's up with that?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:44:13 PM)
With what?

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:44:21 PM)
Not being able to kick I mean

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:44:33 PM)
Oh, the weather is not permitting yet

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 4:44:28 PM)
I heard you on Bucknuts, I like your attitude. Why can't you kick in Cleveland? Weather or am I way off?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:45:00 PM)
No you are right the weather is a problem as of right now

Hubbard (Mar 26, 2003 4:44:38 PM)
Brian, what's your career long?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:45:05 PM)
my career long in a game is 52 yards, against Toledo Whitmer

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:45:24 PM)
In practice without any pressure my long is 60 yards

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 4:45:45 PM)
I am sorry if I missed reading somewhere, but do you also punt?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:46:08 PM)
Yes I punted this past year as well

Hubbard (Mar 26, 2003 4:46:10 PM)
Wow and great accuracy, it's hard to believe that some other school didn't steal you away

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:47:00 PM)
HAHA yes a few schools were looking at me, but I definitely thought that Ohio State had the best opportunity for myself, and the coaching staff was great, especially Coach Conley, the man I was speaking with

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 4:47:03 PM)
Did you ever get a chance to meet or talk with A. Groom?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:47:34 PM)
No I have not had the opportunity to speak with him as of yet

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:47:56 PM)
I have heard nothing but great things about the man, and I respect him for all of what he did during his career

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:48:22 PM)
What were your FG stats last year?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:48:47 PM)
I went 8 for 9 during my junior year, and 18 for 21 during my senior year

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:49:22 PM)
You played safety too... how do you feel that will help you?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:50:31 PM)
I felt that it helped me get ready for the game, instead of sitting on the sidelines waiting to get in the game just kicking, but it also helped me with pressure. I was never under pressure kicking because I played during the game at safety

Susan (Mar 26, 2003 4:50:34 PM)
he'll know how to tackle if a kick gets blocked ; )

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:50:58 PM)
I was also never afraid to hit someone if they get through the coverage team

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:51:34 PM)
What did they tell you as far as the future as far as scholarships go?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:52:14 PM)
Well they told me that once I earn a starting spot on the team then i would receive a scholarship, so I will play it by year and wait my turn.

bucknut (Mar 26, 2003 4:52:18 PM)
nice to have you as a buckeye Brian

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:52:39 PM)
Thank you very much, everyone has been great so far with the support

Susan (Mar 26, 2003 4:53:05 PM)
was the "punting" question answered? Sorry. I was temporarily booted.

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:53:05 PM)
Brian had said that he punted this year... is there any plans for the future with punting, or just K?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:53:21 PM)
Yes I punted this year as well

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:53:41 PM)
Well I will need to brush up on my technique and everything, but it could be a definite possibility

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 4:53:47 PM)
Has there been any talk about redshirting, which could put a little more distance with Nug?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:54:48 PM)
Not yet, no one has told me about redshirting

bucknut (Mar 26, 2003 4:54:52 PM)
I hope you get to start and get your scholarship

Susan (Mar 26, 2003 4:54:56 PM)
Brian, your thoughts on Coach Tressel

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:56:04 PM)
Well actually I have not met Coach Tressel yet, but he has made great improvements with the program, and he is a winning coach. Even when he was with Youngstown State he had won many national championships, so I believe that he is a great coach!

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 4:56:18 PM)
I hope you "stick it" to all those people who you said didn't think it was impressive that you are walking onto OSU.

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:56:55 PM)
I hope that I earn my spot as well and receive a scholarship!

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:57:10 PM)
Yes i do as well, i personally think that walking on to the National Championship football team is awesome

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 4:58:11 PM)
Talk about the recruiting process... what other schools were pursuing you?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:58:51 PM)
Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, and Nebraska and a few division 2 and 3 teams, for me to play safety

Susan (Mar 26, 2003 4:58:54 PM)
did OSU winning the national championship solidify your decision to walk on or has being a Buckeye been a lifetime goal?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 4:59:46 PM)
Well I have always been an OSU fan, but I did not get in contact with them until late, but when I did get in contact with them it was a for sure decision that I made

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 5:00:09 PM)
What are some of your interests off the field? Have you chosen a major?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:00:58 PM)
I would love to get in to the Business Management Program, because my parents own a business and Ii have always been around the management part. I have also heard that Ohio State has a great Program as well

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:01:44 PM)
But the one thing that I will do while I am at Ohio State is graduate, and earn a degree in some type of major. That is something that I have always had in my mind

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 5:03:57 PM)
What are concentrating on more: strength training or technique, or both?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:04:39 PM)
I am going to concentrate on both aspects, because it is important to stay strong with great technique

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 5:05:07 PM)
Who are some of the best players you played against at St. Ed?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:06:05 PM)
Well the main player would have to be Maurice Clarett, but I have played against Tony Gonzolez, Louis Irizzary, and up coming star Delbert Ferguson

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:07:45 PM)
The best player though would definitely have to be Maurice Clarett

Hubbard (Mar 26, 2003 5:06:09 PM)
Being from Cleveland do you know any of the other recruits?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:07:47 PM)
I know of Tony and that's about it

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:07:48 PM)
But i have heard a lot about Dareus Hiley, and Donte Whitner who are both great athletes

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 5:08:14 PM)
Will you be attending any more camps or have you started any kind of program designed by OSU or will you continue to train the way you have?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:08:49 PM)
I will be attending many camps over the summer with the Pelfreys, because they have asked me to work some of them, but I hope to be on a program soon

Hubbard (Mar 26, 2003 5:09:06 PM)
Speaking of Tony where does he end up at OSU CB or WR?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:09:57 PM)
Well Ii would personally like to see him at WR, because he has great speed, and phenomenal hands. Also because of the recruiting group at DB's.

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 5:10:28 PM)
What would you like OSU fans to know about you?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:11:17 PM)
I am a team player first and foremost, but I am not cocky, I am a very humble young man. I am also a hard worker and willing to learn as much as possible

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 5:11:18 PM)
Pardon my ignorance, but the Pelfreys? As in Doug? How did you become acquainted with them?

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:12:16 PM)
No, it is Ray and Rob Pelfrey, I found out about their camps about 3 years ago and I have stuck with them ever since

BPierce (Mar 26, 2003 5:12:31 PM)
Ray had been in the NFL for Green Bay and New York

Kirk (Mar 26, 2003 5:12:52 PM)
We're getting ready to wrap it up... any last questions or comments for Brian?

bucknut13 (Mar 26, 2003 5:13:53 PM)
