Ursuline Rolls To Title Game Win

Youngstown Ursuline rolled to their third consecutive title, by defeating out-manned Coldwater 51-21 Saturday morning in Canton. Ursuline was led by Mr. Football award winner Akise Teague, who was outstanding with the football in his hands. After storming to a 44-7 halftime lead, the Irish cruised to the title. Bill Greene was on hand for all the action.

The third time was the charm for Youngstown Ursuline head coach Dan Reardon, as his Irish rolled to their third straight Ohio state championship, after defeating Coldwater 51-21 in the Division-V title game.

Reardon watched his team steam-roll the Cavaliers behind the all-around brilliance of senior superstar Akise Teague. In the first half alone, Teague rushed for 192 yards, had 94 receiving yards, and scored four touchdowns. He added a fifth touchdown in the third quarter, when the lead went to 51-14.

For the game, Teague rushed for 249 yards and four touchdowns. He added another score on a reception, and was brilliant from his cornerback spot. Junior tailback Jesse Curry also rushed for 113 yards in helping the Irish roll up 611 yards of total offense.

The game was a rematch of the 2009 Division-V state title game, which Ursuline won 55-25. Ursuline finished the 2010 season as a perfect 15-0, in winning their fourth state championship.
