Barrett names five

Martinsburg, WV WR Brandon Barrett might be tops in the state of West Virginia this year. Duane Long caught up with him recently.

Brandon Barrett is looking like the top player in the state of West Virginia this year. He stands in at 6-1, 180 and has run a 4.5. The wide receiver had a big season last year as he won state player of the year as a junior, but his team fell short of a title.

"We went 12-1 last year," he said. "We lost in the semi-finals to Parkersburg South."

The standout lists offers from Ohio State, Marshall, West Virginia, and Duke, and he is coming to check out OSU this week.

"I've never been to Columbus, but I will be there Friday," he said. "I've been to West Virginia and Virginia on-campus."

Barrett is listed as a WR, but he is a fine player on both sides of the ball. He's not looking to play any position in particular on the next level.

"I really have no preference," he said.
