Junior CB getting offers

Tony Howard from Garfield Heights is a player to watch this year. Duane Long has an update.

Garfield Heights CB/RB Tony Howard has emerged as one of the Cleveland-area's top players.  Howard is a quick and explosive player who stands out on both sides of the ball, but he seems to be getting recruited at CB early on.  He lists his height at 5-9 and weighs 190 pounds, and he could play on either side of the ball in college.

"I can play CB or RB," he said.  "It really doesn't matter to me."

Among the schools Tony has said to be offered by are Michigan State and Minnesota. He is going to camp at OSU and went to the first junior day, but he has an out-of-state favorite right now.

"Michigan State is my favorite right now," he said.  "I will be going up to their spring game."

Tony, who lists his favorite player as Ricky Williams, also played basketball this year and is going to run track.  As for important factors in his decision, he says "I want to go to school with a good sports medicine program.  Playing early is important too."

Expect a decision within a few months from this fine prospect.

"I will make my decision before the season," he said.
