Junior Prospect - Ray Jones

If you're looking for the best prospects in the Columbus area, one place you should check out is Gahanna Columbus Academy as that is where you will find RB/DB Ray Jones. Jones stands 6-1, weighs in at 200, and has clocked in at 4.5 in the 40. So far, he has received offers from Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, Duke, Boston College, and Maryland.

"Michigan State and Duke are recruiting me as a RB; Northwestern is recruiting me as both; BC and Maryland are recruiting me as an athlete," he said. "I haven't decided which I want to play."

Ray is probably going to be camping out at Stanford this summer and maybe UCLA as well. Other possibilities for camps include Northwestern and Michigan State.

"I just got off the phone with Stanford," he said. "They're only taking one back this year. They're going to do their evaluations and get back to me."

Ray is a fine student and high character person who plans on majoring in international politics and business. He didn't play basketball over the winter and has been in the weight room. He put up a 1250 total in a power-lifting competition and placed 3rd in the 195-pound class in his very first meet.

Right now, Ray lists his pecking order as Stanford, Northwestern, Michigan State, Duke, BC, and Maryland.

"I used to think I would get it over with early, but the way things are happening, I want to take my time to make a decision," he said. "I'm probably going to take all five visits."
