Branden Armstrong, a fine OL from Clayton Northmont, is starting to get more and more attention.
"Miami (OH) just offered," he said. "They didn't say for what position but the tackle and tight end coach was the one who made the offer."
"Illinois called earlier, but I was at open gym. They are going to call back."
"Maryland has actually been to school twice; they are the only ones to have done that," he said. "I went to Ohio State for the spring game at the Buckeyes' invitation. I went up with Nii Adjei Oninku."
Branden has been working hard in the weight room to get the strength up.
"My bench press is up to 265," he said. "I've been working on my legs too. I have been running regularly with Alex Makridis."
"I was going to throw the discus and join the track team but I decided to stay in the weight room. My weight is now between 240 and 245."
Another OL prospect on the rise is Portsmouth's Gerald Cadogan. I called recently and had a conversation with his mother Maureen, who is enjoying the recruiting process so far.
"Gerald just got an offer from Miami (OH)," she said. "Stanford sent me a mother's day card. They will be in this Friday."
Miami (OH) is Gerald's fourth offer so far.
"He's receiving between 20-30 pieces of mail a day now."
Gerald and his mom went over to the spring game at Penn State. "We got to look around the place," she said.
Gerald is very interested in Ohio State, and they had a fun time the last time they were there.
"Last time we were at Ohio State we got to meet with Coach Tressel and Maurice Clarett," she said. "We got to take pictures."
