Steubenville (OH) senior Najee Murray had over a half dozen offers when he decided to commit to Ohio State in July. Even with the uncertainty around the football program, the 5-foot-11, 170 pound safety knew that he wanted to be a Buckeye. Now that OSU has hired Urban Meyer, Murray says he's excited about the future.
"I'm really excited for him to be my head coach. He's a smart coach that will keep Ohio State tradition alive. I think he'll bring the mentality of winning like he did to Florida and also bring national championships to Ohio State."
While excited by the addition of Meyer, Murray is thrilled that Luke Fickell will still be a part of the team.
"I'm really happy Coach Fickell will remain on the staff. I was the first commitment for him and have built a relationship with him."
The senior will be running track this spring in high school, so he doesn't plan on enrolling until the summer, but says the thought of not becoming a Buckeye never crossed his mind.
"I'm definitely coming to Ohio State."
