FB getting attention

Lakota East's Tony Johnson is a big, bruising fullback who ranks as one of Ohio's best. We caught up with Head Coach Greg Bailie to find out the latest.

--What schools have been contacting Tony the most?

"All the schools he is hearing from are major Division I programs, without naming any schools in specific."

--What conferences, then, is he hearing from the most?

"Schools in the Big 10, WAC, and MAC"

--How has Tony handled the whole recruiting process?

"Tony has been open-minded and receptive to the whole process. He appreciates everyone that comes in, and he is looking at it from a day-to-day perspective."

--What is it that college coaches and recruiters like about Tony?

"First off, he passes the eye test. He has great vision. He plays well on film and coaches like his ability to block, run well – he has a 4.7 forty - and he is physical. He is 6'1", 250, and gets good leverage, gets pad under pad, and is strong. He is a team player and works hard on his game. Tony is responsible, talented, and coachable. Tony also has strength in character."

--What expectations do you have for Tony in the upcoming season?

"I expect him to have a good senior year and to strive academically. He is a team player and a leader and I expect him to make the most of what's in front of him."
