BANK Blog: Urban Scorecard Update

Ohio State now holds five commitments for the 2013 recruiting class. Urban Meyer landed a great class for 2012, and is well on his way to another. How is the current class shaping up? Who might be next?

Urban Meyer appears to be at it again on the recruiting front, and the recent commitment of Evan Lisle continues the roll of great prospects pledging to the Buckeyes.

How will the current commits impact Ohio State's "star ranking", and who might be next in line to commit?

Cameron Burrows: The Trotwood-Madison cornerback was Meyer's first commit in the 2013 class, and fills a huge need. Burrows has a chance to play early, considering the depth at defensive back. Ranked at number-five in Ohio. STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR PROSPECT.

Jalin Marshall: The top playmaker in the Midwest, and Ohio's top-rated player overall. He fills the need for speed that Meyer has built his coaching foundation upon. Marshall also should be a factor early, as Meyer will look to utilize him right off the bat. STAR RANKING: FIVE-STAR PROSPECT.

Eli Woodard: The lone out of state commit for 2013, but that won't be the case too much longer. Woodard gives Ohio State another nationally ranked cornerback along with Burrows, and both will get a chance to contribute early in their careers. STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR PROSPECT.

Billy Price: The number-six ranked player in Ohio, Price will find a crowded depth chart on the defensive line. He could be a candidate to redshirt, to add strength and bulk. Price could factor in as an offensive lineman, but he projects as a defensive tackle to start. STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR PROSPECT.

Evan Lisle: Meyer's latest commit fills the need at offensive tackle, and that level of need continues to drop under the new head coach. Lisle should be able to redshirt as a freshman, and learn the nuances of pass blocking at his pace. He is the number-four ranked prospect in Ohio. STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR PROSPECT.

Mike Heuerman: The Naples (FLA) Barron-Collier tight end recently completed a great visit to Ohio State. Factor in another visit for the spring game, and his brother (Jeff) on the team, and this one is trending toward the Buckeyes.

Courtney Love: The Youngstown Cardinal Mooney prospect holds several top offers, but Ohio State is the one he wanted.

Malik Zaire: Has talked about making a May commitment. Would Ohio State need to see him throw in camp? Or would they send Tom Herman to the school to watch him throw during the spring evaluation period? Stay tuned.

Ben Gedeon: The Hudson star has played his recruitment close to the vest, and has given no indication of a timeline to commit, or a favorite school.

Shelton Gibson: Was at one-time a lock for Auburn, and he planned on issuing a commitment to the Tigers last winter. What changed? Ohio State hiring Meyer. Gibson holds the distinction of being the first player offered by Meyer.
