Recruiting Update - Brandon Underwood

Hamilton, OH DB Brandon Underwood is a player who will see his offer list grow this summer. He will be out on the camp circuit, getting the attention of the Big Ten coaches and should get plenty of offers by the time the season comes around. We have an update on him today.

Hamilton High School (OH) DB Brandon Underwood is earning respect as a talented football player and is escaping the shadows of his brother E.J. E.J. is a DB for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and was a first-team Division I Associated Press All-Ohio selection this past season. However, Brandon Underwood is putting up some good numbers and is getting offers from some of the top programs in the country.

Known as "B.U." amongst his teammates, Brandon Underwood recorded 50 tackles, 15 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles last season. At 6'1", 175 pounds, Brandon runs a speedy 4.4 forty. He is a hard-hitting cornerback with good size and is an aggressive player who will be returning kickoffs this upcoming season because he has such good field vision.

Brandon has already displayed his talents at the Tennessee and Indiana camps this summer, and he is going to camp at Ohio State, Notre Dame, Iowa, and Michigan. He has already received offers from Indiana, Penn State, Arizona State, Maryland, and Cincinnati to name a few. However, Brandon said he is going to wait until the end of the season to decide where he is going to go.

Brandon had 2 interceptions in one game last season and was named player of the game. However, he says he laughs at himself after watching the film of that game. "After my second interception, I cut back instead of hitting the open hole. I thought it was going to close up so I made a ridiculous cut. I laughed at myself after watching that on film."

In the off-season, Brandon has been improving his hips and his footwork. He says he has been doing a lot of tone drills and conditioning to keep his speed up too.

Brandon plans on majoring in Computer Science in college. "I love computers. They can do almost anything," he says. He is a long time Charles Woodson fan and cheers for the Steelers on Sundays.

If his past performance on the field is any indication, football fans can expect a big season from Brandon Underwood. He is one on the top prospects in Ohio, and has what it takes to be a legitimate Division I football player.
