2013 Intro: North Broward Prep (Fla) DB

Jay Jenkins is a standout two-way player from North Broward Prep High so lets take a closer look at him as a prospect.

Name: CB Jay Jenkins

School: North Broward Prep HS (Coconut Creek, Fla)

Size: 5-10/170

2011 season stats: Jenkins finished his junior season with 37 tackles, three interceptions, and eight pass deflections. On offense, he caught 19 passes for 213 yards and two scores.

Grades: 3.0 GPA/no test score

Recruiting: Jenkins lists Florida State (childhood favorite), Miami, LSU, and Ohio State as his early favorites. He doesn't have any scholarship offers yet.

"A place I can call home and a environment that's most suitable for me," Jenkins said when asked what he'll be looking for when it comes time to make a decision.

As a Prospect: Jenkins was a very good two-way player as a junior last season. He showed the ability to make plays on offense and was a shut down cornerback on defense. He has ball skills, plus athleticism, and he's a good student. Expect him to emerge as one of the top cornerback prospects in South Florida for the 2013 class.
