Will Ohio State be the next to offer? We'll find out soon as the coach was talking on the phone with Duane while sitting in the parking lot outside OSU camp.
On another note, fine Trotwood-Madison underclassman Donald Bell ran a 4.48 at Purdue camp despite fighting hamstring problems. He could not run another 40 due to his hamstring. We also talked with Brandon Underwood's father. Brandon now has offers from Michigan State, Iowa, Louisville, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, and Penn State. Illinois has offered but they want to clear his grades first. He has been out to Illinois recently too. They did visit Tennessee, and they may be offering soon too. Reverend Underwood said he was supposed to call them back shortly.
Purdue also wants a visit, but they don't know if they are going to do that or not. They are going to Notre Dame tomorrow, and they'll be going to Ohio State camp next week. Michigan is also interested.
"Coach Collins from Michigan sent four e-mails while we were gone," Rev. Underwood said.
Another player who will have a great shot at getting offers this summer is West Chester Lakota West OL/TE Evan Spanogians. The 6-4 ½ 289 pounder has already been checking out schools and will continue to have a busy schedule. He was at Illinois Monday and was also at Northwestern.
"He couldn't really camp because they have hitting at their camp," Evan's dad said. "He will visit Virginia and Pitt on Monday and Tuesday of next week. The family may visit West Virginia, Duke and Wake Forest while on vacation. He went down to Tennessee Thursday of last week and did a bunch of agility drills for them. "
"He's wide open," said Mr. Spanogians. "He will wait until fall and then take all five visits."
Evan is also very busy with training right now as his father said he's working with the weights three days a week and he's doing Tekulve speed workouts three days a week. He also played baseball this spring.
"He played first base and designated hitter in baseball," his dad said. "He's got a 3.5 GPA; he's just taken both tests and scores are not back yet."
Schools right now are recruiting him at both TE and OL.
"Coach Minter (Cincinnati) said he would recruit him as a tight end," said Mr. Spanogians. "He thinks he has that kind of athleticism."
