Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:01:12 PM)
Hi guys

jd (Jun 19, 2003 1:01:28 PM)
hi kirk !

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:01:40 PM)

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:01:44 PM)
Go Bucks

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:02:00 PM)
My clock has struck 1, so let the chat begin...

ohbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:02:22 PM)

ohbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:02:48 PM)
How was camp?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:03:39 PM)
We are looking to get out to the camp sessions next week... a few more guys will arrive soon, but the bulk of the players will be at the senior advanced sessions

jd (Jun 19, 2003 1:03:43 PM)
Ted Ginn Jr. was pretty non-committal on the show the other day. Do you think he is really an OSU lean ?

ohbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:04:31 PM)
Heard a rumor spreading around NE Ohio that OSU offered Alex Boone. True or rumor?

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:04:47 PM)
I just think Ginn wants to take his visits. Whitner & Hiley were the same way.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:04:56 PM)
Many people - Duane included - feel it would be a surprise if he went anywhere other than OSU. Ted sounds like he wants to get recruited... it's surprising only 12 schools have offered.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:05:01 PM)
Who is Alex Boone?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:05:11 PM)
Alex Boone is a BIG OL for next year's class

AtlantaBuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:05:18 PM)
What are the chances that TG Jr. bypasses football for the Olympics?

jd (Jun 19, 2003 1:05:39 PM)
What is going on with Dareus Hiley ? Is he hurt ?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:06:29 PM)
A Boone offer wouldn't be too much of a surprise. We'll check into it, but I talked to Coach Gibbons a while back, and he raved about Boone. He started bringing up the names of the pro players he coached

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:06:58 PM)
What school does Boone go to?

ohbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:07:03 PM)
St. Ed's.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:07:39 PM)
AtlantaBuck, I guess I can't say for sure. We'll have to talk to Coach Ginn about that.

dominus (Jun 19, 2003 1:08:00 PM)
What is the general feeling here about the Ohio State punting situation? I am a little nervous about it. Is there reason for concern here?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:08:59 PM)
Regarding Hiley... sounds like an injury situation.

ohbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:09:23 PM)
I heard his foot .

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:09:42 PM)
We have been trying to catch Coach Ginn to get on the show and we'll ask him.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:11:20 PM)
dominus, I think there's a little reason for concern... everyone remembers that BJ Sander was inconsistent in 2001. I have a wait-and-see attitude. Most people seem to think it will be ok. If I had to guess, I'd say it won't be as good of a situation as OSU had the past two years with Groom, but I think it won't be bad either.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:11:45 PM)
Sander doesn't have the athleticism Groom has but he can boom them.

dominus (Jun 19, 2003 1:12:34 PM)
Thanks, Kirk, for the punting information.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:14:00 PM)
Is Kne on scholarship now?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:14:08 PM)
I too am interested to see how the punting situation shakes out. It may be the biggest question mark on the team. One thing we do need to hope for is a healthy Sander the entire year. We could be in for an adventure if he gets hurt

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:14:10 PM)
hello everyone

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:14:27 PM)
very true

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:14:55 PM)
I hadn't heard anything for sure about Kne getting on scholarship yet, but he's one of the walk-ons who I would think is next in line for getting one.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:15:13 PM)
Kirk did you see Rodney Bailey's little bro on the O-zone. I would love to see him as a preferred walk on

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:15:44 PM)
Who's next in line after Sander? Huston? JZ?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:16:16 PM)
5'10 220 ran a 4.45 at the camp. Plays LB in High school but is working out with the DB's at camp

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:16:17 PM)
I did see that. When I talked to Coach Gibbons a while back, I don't recall him mentioning Bailey. I don't know that much about him, but the speed certainly sounds good

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:16:26 PM)
Kirk, how do you feel about the possibility of Brandon Underwood getting an offer. Does he have to show more in the coming months or is he good enough and just stuck in a numbers game?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:16:52 PM)
I think they should offer him. I was very impressed with his video

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:17:09 PM)
I think they have enough room for him and Ginn

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:17:29 PM)
especially since so many of the guys they got last year could end up at different spots

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:17:30 PM)
HangOnSloopy, that is the big question. :) I'm guessing Nugent. Huston was getting looks at punter during the spring but did not look like a guy who could step in at punter.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:18:33 PM)
Watching kids like underwood and hearing about Zach Logan and out of state db's who are interested makes me really wonder why we offered Shaun Lane so early.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:19:45 PM)
I think we'll definitely find out at camp. I think he is a good player for sure. As for the numbers game, I'm not sure... what looked like a great incoming group of cornerbacks this year has thinned out to just one (Youboty) if Gonzalez is going to WR and Whitner stays at safety.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:20:01 PM)
I hope lane turns into one great player but why did he get an offer so early he could habe came to camp and showed what he had compared to everyone else. He is an Ohio kid he would have waited for an offer.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:20:49 PM)
Everyone was on Lukens case last year and now we're pumped to have him. Let's hope Lane ends up the same way.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:20:56 PM)
I think the Lane thing is more of a legacy offer cuz of his dad

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:21:03 PM)
Speaking of HIley Kirk, is his neck going to be a concern, that kind of scares me it sounds serious.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:21:46 PM)
OSU must have felt very confident about offering him. It was a bit of a surprise when they did. I think he is a good player. I personally like my CBs bigger, but I think he can be good.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:21:58 PM)
Yeah sloopy but Lukens got his at camp we offered Lane in like March or Feb

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:23:00 PM)
That's a good question on Hiley. The injury described is something that I personally had not heard of before. I'd like to think that if it was a concern, we would have heard something. We'll likely find out more on that in the coming days.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:23:37 PM)
supposedly he was paralyzed for 2 hours when it happened

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:23:38 PM)
good point NY

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:23:40 PM)
As for early offers, hey, I thought Joel Penton was a strange offer when they made that one early. I don't think anyone doubts that now though.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:23:46 PM)
So it's tough to say.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:24:57 PM)
Kirk, do you think Adam Olds and Ryan Cook will ever contribute here? They were in Tress's first recruiting class and have not done much.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:25:01 PM)
The OSU coaches do miss on prospects, but overall, their record is quite impressive.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:25:35 PM)
what is up with Oninku not going to camp now

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:25:36 PM)
Olds I think will have a chance to contribute. Cook looks less likely.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:27:23 PM)
I told that Oninku tidbit to Duane and he was surprised. Oninku has been a hard guy to get in contact with lately, and it will be interesting -- if he indeed doesn't go to OSU camp -- to see what happens. Ohio State is high on him regardless, so we will see.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:27:50 PM)
didn't you say they were looking at him as a LB

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:28:20 PM)
By the way I hope we land Kyle Williams

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:28:33 PM)
His video is unbelievable

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:28:35 PM)
he is a stud

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:28:35 PM)
Yes, we were told that they were looking at him at LB. He's a versatile guy though, that's what's nice.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:29:13 PM)
Just gotta get Williams in for a visit. Iowa has been consistently mentioned as the top school, but let's just hope the Buckeyes can get him in for an official.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:29:15 PM)
Where are we going to fine DE's at?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:30:11 PM)
Last year losing out on Turk Mcbride, Mario Williams, Washington, McClover, is starting to look like more of a problem than I first thought

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:30:12 PM)
Not a good year for DE it seems.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:30:54 PM)
I know there is Barrow and a few others out there but it does not seem that they are at the same level as last years top DE prospects

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:31:03 PM)
Kirk, Massey had been real quiet in this whole process. Is there any word on where he might be leaning. Having a bro here and the school up north wonder who he was a fan of as a kid.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:31:14 PM)
That's a good question... Massey is probably tops at DE in Ohio, but will he choose OSU? Oninku certainly could play DE though. Someone could emerge at camp, but I think it is not a very good year for DE in general across America.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:31:38 PM)
That kid from Sconsin looks like an animal though

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:31:56 PM)
we still havent offered him?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:32:35 PM)
Do you think Richardson, and company are progressing well enough to were we will not see a drop off in 04 when they are starters

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:32:36 PM)
Anderson? We were trying to call this week and had no luck yet.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:33:28 PM)
Kirk, did you guys ever get a hold of Robert Reid?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:33:33 PM)
someone had once said that richardson was a bigger Will Smith

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:33:34 PM)
Hard to say no dropoff from Will Smith. He's an all-american

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:34:03 PM)
That's a nice question. I think that the DL in 2004 will still be quite good. But this year's DL could be better than last year, which is saying something. If I had to guess, I would say that there would be a drop-off, but that isn't exactly saying it will not be a good line. I think the drop off will be from a great line to a very good line.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:34:24 PM)
I just did not see any explosiveness from the up and coming DE's

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:34:34 PM)
Penton excluded

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:34:35 PM)
but i do think penton, richardson, frost, maupin, and kudla will get the job done

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:34:45 PM)
He really gets after it

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:35:03 PM)
What about Pittcock

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:35:08 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:35:21 PM)
HE was supposed to be like the White Big Daddy with better speed

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:35:34 PM)
We still have to call Reid, but he's one of those guys (like Gallimore and Byers) who is seemingly being pestered left and right by guys like us. :) Seriously, I have been keeping a close eye on how many updates the kids have been doing, and I'm trying to avoid overbothering the kids. Reid seems to be a guy who gets called a lot, so I decided to wait a little bit.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:35:58 PM)
I do hope he comes on that is Pitcock this year

I_Love_Hot_Girls (Jun 19, 2003 1:36:12 PM)
Hey Kirk, ray williams, hes a great runner but with delbert in the picture, are the bucks gonna offer ray, or are they gonna let this kid slip away

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:36:16 PM)
that is a very good idea on the recruits Kirk

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:37:38 PM)
It's getting a bit much BuckeyeNOrlando. Twice in two weeks, we've done an update on a player (B. Underwood, J. Estopinan) and two other web sites have had updates the same day. It might be very hard to avoid bothering the kids too much, but I am going to try at first.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:38:30 PM)
Kirk, wasnt it a good sign that Jacky Claude came all the way up here in a van to go to regular camp? I like are chances with him alot more now.

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:38:40 PM)
Hello, Sportsfans.

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:39:03 PM)
Both websites having the same interview, sounds a bit like someone is employed by the New York Times!!!

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:39:08 PM)
I echo the sentiment on your handle I_Love_Hot_Girls... I wouldn't count out Williams yet. Grades are an issue, but there have been too many confusing signals to just assume that Delbert is going to be the one to get the offer.

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 1:39:58 PM)
It seems like more and more offers are going out all of the time. With camp, and all of the OOS recruits, it seems like the coaches are very busy. Are we seeing more offers because more OOS guys are getting offers?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:40:11 PM)
I like Williams though. I think he's offer worthy. Some don't agree, but I like him

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:40:57 PM)
Are we talking Ray Williams instead of Russell or Delbert?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:41:22 PM)
nybucks, it could be, but then it could be just his coach telling him to go to a camp that will help. I think that in the end, guys like Claude are always very tough to get out of the grips of Miami if they want them.

I_Love_Hot_Girls (Jun 19, 2003 1:41:32 PM)
ray williams den buck

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:41:56 PM)
I have read where Steve Rehring has gotten an offer from PSU, along with many others, and that Michigan may soon offer. Are we missing out here Kirk?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:42:11 PM)
spbuck, not the same interview, but three different interviews of the same player... it's just an indication that more and more sites are covering recruiting and it's harder for the players to get breaks

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:43:10 PM)
Seems like we may offer that kicker Gianini? That would seem to be a real susprise. Thoughts, Kirk?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:43:32 PM)
edbuck I think the number of offers increasing has a lot to do with the May Eval period and camps going on. In May, the coaches hunker down and get into it and that's when a lot of offers start to come out

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:43:37 PM)
I thought the same thing on Rehring, will some of the Ohio kids have to wait for Buckeye offers because we are in on so many good out of staters, Kirk?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:44:46 PM)
We'll see on Rehring. Coach Cox told me that Rehring was at the top of OSU's list and they just wanted to get him in camp to make sure. He's one of the guys to watch in the coming days to see what happens. I think if OSU offers, he's theirs.

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 1:45:05 PM)
OSU's camp grew from 500 to 4000. Do you think that is because camps are more important now, or does either JT or the NC have a big inluence?

I_Love_Hot_Girls (Jun 19, 2003 1:45:37 PM)
Brief side question; how in the world does texas have 15 recruits already, whats with that?

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:46:46 PM)
It sounds like Rehring must be showing well at the camps because PSU offered while he was there and he said that he thought Michigan was going to offer after his efforts at their camp. I hope he comes to OSU's camp and proves he is worthy of a National Champ's offer.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:46:58 PM)
DenBuck, I don't know if it would be a surprise... a kicker would be a true freshman when Nuge is a senior. He could redshirt and then be ready to take over for Nugent. I think some are surprised because Pierce is walking on, but walk-ons still aren't scholarship players. I think it could happen.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:47:06 PM)
All I know is that Jeff Byers should be our number 1 target

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:47:42 PM)
Kirk, I know this may be a tough question and no one really knows, but have we offered Louis Holmes and is he gonna be a Buckeye some how some way?

ohbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:48:38 PM)
I've seen Pierce kick. I wouldn't be surprised if he beat out a scholarship kid

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:48:43 PM)
nybucks, I think it is the same situation as a couple of years ago... there are some nice OL prospects in-state this year, and OSU just wants to get them in camp to check them out. I have a feeling the out-of-state guys won't have an impact if they see something they like in the coming days

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:49:40 PM)
We have to wait on Byers and Gallimore though

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:49:55 PM)
Especially Byers he is just 2 good

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:50:24 PM)
From what I saw on jis video I think he is a strater the moment he sets foot on Campus

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:50:29 PM)
I'm definitely not counting out Pierce and I don't want it to sound like I'm criticizing

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:51:18 PM)
would he play center orlando and we would move mangold to guard?

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 1:51:24 PM)
What do y'all think of Leon Hart. I rank him right up near the top. He blew away the All-America Army Combine, and is a good student?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:51:31 PM)
Hot_Girls... I have been following it from a long distance... it just seems like they are offering guys and then guys are accepting right away. In-state guys

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:51:41 PM)
I think he would be a guard for us at first

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:52:04 PM)
nybucks, I put Duane on a quest to find out once and for all about Louis Holmes. Be sure to keep bugging him about it. :)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:52:08 PM)
he has better size than mangold, and it would be better for opening up holes for Clarrett

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:52:33 PM)
but I dont think we will get him but I sure hope so

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:52:45 PM)
I think we just might get him

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:52:54 PM)
I really really like our chances with him

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:07 PM)
Byers and Gallimore are guys who you take no matter what... every year, there are players that you just don't turn away if you want to come. I think OSU could take as many linemen as they want before they announce and still take one of those guys if they wanted to come

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:09 PM)
I like your optimisim

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:12 PM)
NY have you seen his video?

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:38 PM)
it is definatly on another level than others

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:45 PM)
It is on the Rivals network

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:50 PM)
so you have seen it

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:53:59 PM)
Leon Hart is now on the call list (translation -- after hearing news for the first time that he might be interested, we now have to call to find out more)

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:54:21 PM)
I mean the quality of his play is on another level yes I have seen it

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 1:54:29 PM)
I read that Rodrick Johnson was mentioning OSU again.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:55:00 PM)
I keep going back to see his video and I just get giddy thinking about him in Scarlet & Gray

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 1:55:08 PM)
I totally agree. If they end up with 8 OLs this year, you won't hear me complain. Byers, Gallimore, Braxton, Hart, Claude, Person, Mitchum, Rehring.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:55:24 PM)
god that would be great!!!!!!!!

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 1:55:27 PM)
thatd be great

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:55:34 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:55:44 PM)
Call me crazy but I think he is Orlando Pace on the inside

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:05 PM)
That would go beyond best-case scenario... that would be beyond-my-wildest-dreams scenario :)

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:11 PM)
What does everyone think about Braxton? I just get the feeling that he may be Georgia bound.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:30 PM)
Every guy he hit in those videos went flat on their backs. He totally just blew them up

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:37 PM)
I hope not, he will stay home

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:45 PM)
We talk to Braxton today for a radio interview. I'll let everyone know if he says anything new.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:51 PM)
Braxton is a bit of an enigma

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:56:57 PM)
wonder what type of competion he goes up against orlando

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:57:04 PM)

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:57:11 PM)
yeah byers

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:57:11 PM)
from the video it looked good

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:57:25 PM)
All the kids looked pretty big to me

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:57:32 PM)
i guess they did

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:57:48 PM)
and the quality looked comprable to clips I have seen of players coming out of PA

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:58:12 PM)
This is in contrast to Chase Clowsers video

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:58:31 PM)
in that video it is clear that the competition is inferior and quite a bit smaller

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 1:58:40 PM)
sounds like Hiley got dinged pretty good last season. is that going to have a long term impact on him?

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 1:58:47 PM)

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:01 PM)
I hope we get Braxton, but I feel more confident about us geetting Ginn, Freman, and Davis. Those three would ease my pain if we lose Braxton. Plus, I think we are in on a lot of highly rated linemen and I like our chances in filling our OL needs.

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:03 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:04 PM)
the difference between Div 1 and Div 4 or whatever is evident in his video

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:32 PM)
That is why I am not as big on Clowser

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:33 PM)
Kirk do you think we have a shot at Kyle or Willie Williams The Willams brothers would look good here!

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:47 PM)
I know that OSU seems to like his upside though

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 1:59:54 PM)
getting ginn freeman and davis would make me happy no matter who else we got

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:00 PM)
that would be an unreal LB corp

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:08 PM)
with Freeman in the middle

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:09 PM)
has anyone seen hoobler play? his competition level has been a big concern of mine.

Hubbard (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:12 PM)
Willie Williams isn't leaving Florida IMO

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:16 PM)
no chance at Willie I am afraid

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:16 PM)
Everyone seems to think Willie will go to Miami. OSU probably has a better shot at Kyle. They're not in the lead, but they do have a good shot at an official visit. One step at a time there

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:00:27 PM)
no willie, he sounds like a freak, too bad

I_Love_Hot_Girls (Jun 19, 2003 2:01:03 PM)
willie doesn't even looks like a high school kid, he already looks like an nfl player, a real mad dog in a meathouse there

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:01:08 PM)
edbuck I have seen the video, and the competition is alright not great

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:01:23 PM)
ya willie is gonna be a real palyer

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:01:34 PM)
he will definitely be a TE, that was evident to me in the video

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:02:23 PM)
he was a bit stiff and rigid in his movements at LB. Did not seem to possess the "hips" or great lateral movement

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:02:24 PM)
On to a little less heralded linebacker Kirk, has there been any new word on Bob Miller, does he have any good offers from other schools?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:02:58 PM)
If i could compare him to anyone it would be Beb Hartsock

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:08 PM)
which is still very good

Hubbard (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:28 PM)
Not Kirk, but I think Bob Miller might get offered at camp, just a preminition

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:29 PM)
what kind of speed is he, is her faster than ben

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:34 PM)
he will be more of a blocking tight end and a compliment to Frost and Irizarry

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:50 PM)
my bad NY

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:51 PM)
I haven't heard anything on Miller regarding offers. We have tape of him coming though; I'm anxious to take a look. I haven't seen him yet

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:03:56 PM)

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:04:07 PM)
Hoobler is a 4.71 guy I think

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:05:16 PM)
I probably missed the earlier conversation about Delbert Ferguson, but where do we stand and who thinks we will offer?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:05:17 PM)
Kirk- How are Datish, Downing, Coleman coming along

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:05:28 PM)
ya whens delbert comin to camp?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:05:37 PM)
26 or 27

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:05:44 PM)
of this month

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:05:50 PM)
I do believe

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:06:03 PM)
i hope he comes out wanting to prove something

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:06:47 PM)
Do we only take 2 RB's or 3?

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:06:53 PM)
id say 3

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:00 PM)
I like Ferguson. That is one of the things we'll be looking at the closest. I think he has the best chance of getting an offer out of the RBs, but I don't want to count out the others either.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:03 PM)
I say 2 tops

I_Love_Hot_Girls (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:06 PM)
take 3 backs, but use ray williams for something else

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:13 PM)
Kirk, say Clarett stays injury free this year and has a great year. We he needs a break Ross comes in and does great and he stays injury free also. Hall gets no love and rarely plays. Do you think there is a possibility that he might transfer out to somewhere so he can show his talents.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:20 PM)
I think they would take two TBs and Bolen as a FB if he wanted to do that

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:24 PM)
I am not big on Ray WIlliams at all

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:38 PM)
would love to have Bolen at FB

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:53 PM)
i think mo hall is gonna be playing before lydell this fall

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:07:56 PM)
Agree, Orlando.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:00 PM)
but I think he is going to go to Wisconsin where they will gve him a shot at TB

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:19 PM)
agree on Williams or Bolen

osu hammer (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:32 PM)
I hearing the Washington game is going to be a nite game, has anyone heard any thing?

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:34 PM)
I like the kid from the city league what is his name i forget has a good chance at an offer.

Hubbard (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:44 PM)
Hammer, it has been confirmed

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:44 PM)
it is officially a night game

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:55 PM)
I have heard good things on Bolen. Could he be OSU's Mike Alstott? Who has seen him play in person or on film?

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:55 PM)
What's up with Cedric Scott? Walk-on or Schollie? Seems he is deemed a FB at this point?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:55 PM)
8 PM

osu hammer (Jun 19, 2003 2:08:57 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:09:05 PM)
ABC televised

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 2:09:11 PM)
what do you want from your fullback? runner, blocker, receiver, short yardage?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:09:13 PM)
I will probably wuss out when it comes to talking about possible transfers... that caused too much of a stir this year. Of course, there's always the possibility that someone buried on the depth chart might decide to take off somewhere, so it's natural to think that. But if I had to guess, I would think that both guys will wind up finishing out at OSU.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:09:19 PM)
and ESPN Gameday has announce it will be there

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:09:53 PM)
I didnt think Bolen had the type of body that Alstot had am i wrong?

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:09:53 PM)
That Neuiheisel. What a worm...

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:10:02 PM)
I want Howard Griffith

osu hammer (Jun 19, 2003 2:10:05 PM)
Big game hope Jim has them ready

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:10:07 PM)
edbuck I'd want all of those things. :) I think Bolen can do that.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:10:38 PM)
HE was the fullback for the Broncos when Terrel Davis was tearing things up

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:10:41 PM)
he will, washington has so many problems right now, i dont ithkn this one wil lbe too difficutl

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:10:47 PM)
and to me he is the perfect FB

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:11:04 PM)
He would remind me alot of Matt Keller

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:11:14 PM)
he could do all of those things

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:11:16 PM)
hes jsut so set on playing tb

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:11:22 PM)
I look at it this way

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 2:11:49 PM)
i think it takes two fullbacks to do that in the big ten.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:02 PM)
spbuck there are a lot of different opinions on Bolen. He's one guy that the Bucknuts staff can't even agree on. But I agree with Duane (we both think he's a real nice prospect; others at Bucknuts might not quite agree).

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:11 PM)
Bolen could go to Wisconsin and be a solid RB and get drafted on the second day of the draft. Or he could check his ego at the door and become a first round draft pick as a FB

I_Love_Hot_Girls (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:18 PM)
neuiheisel deserved what he got, now we just need that NC State coach to get canned

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:22 PM)
I bet Bolen is a buckeye at heart and will come here tailback or fuulback

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:29 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:31 PM)
at THE Ohio State University

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:33 PM)
i agree orlalndo but i jsut odnt see him doing that

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:12:46 PM)
I am not sure either

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:13:07 PM)
DenBuck, to my knowledge he is viewed as a walk-on right now... if he shows up in the fall like he was talking about, I don't think he can be considered a gray shirt.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:13:31 PM)
orlando is there any Orlando kids who have buckeye talent and might be interested in us

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:00 PM)
When you are that big of a fixture at a small school it is a given that you are going to develop an ego about it. It will be hard for him to than take a less heralded role at OSU as a FB, but in the long run it would be best for him

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:02 PM)
have any of yall heard of one brandon arrington from dallas?

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:13 PM)

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:17 PM)
Heard of Adrian Arrington

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:21 PM)
and lavar

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:23 PM)
When was the last time a FB was drafted in the 1st round Orlando?

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:23 PM)
differnt guy

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:14:45 PM)
not sure but I truly believe he could be.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:16 PM)
Because I believe he has the ability to be like Howard Griffith was for the broncos

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:28 PM)
he was flat out awesome

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:32 PM)
Griffith was good stuff, I'll agree.

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:33 PM)
where did jamaar go, 3rd?

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:37 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:51 PM)
Jamar was pure blocker though

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:54 PM)
Maybe Bolen could be more of a pass catcher and be like Larry Centers

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:59 PM)
Brock seems pretty set on being a RB, but I think it will be close once OSU talks to him about what the role would be.

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:15:59 PM)
he outta have a great year

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:16:09 PM)
NY another good comparison

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:16:15 PM)
he has that ability

DenBuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:16:18 PM)
I actually got to get back to work. Thanks Gents!

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:16:25 PM)
LAter Denver

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:16:51 PM)
I would love to land Bolen HE is in my top five wish list right now

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:16:56 PM)
Life's too short to work! :D

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:17:04 PM)
top 5?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:17:15 PM)
yes for me he is

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:17:30 PM)
that is how highly I view his potential at FB

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:17:30 PM)
i got ginn freeman davis williams morelli

spbuck (Jun 19, 2003 2:18:27 PM)
I'll take Davisn Freeman, Ginn and the 2 of the top OL's on the board!!!!!

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:18:34 PM)
So orlando if you could take any 5 guys in the country you would take him as one of the 5

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:18:55 PM)
When they recruited Irizarry they talked about how they wanted to stretch the field and how he could change the offense and make it more explosive

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:00 PM)
ya i gotta throw atleat 1 ol in there

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:01 PM)
Bolen can do that as a FB

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:13 PM)
it gives your offense so many more dimensions

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:19 PM)
can u imagine that offense

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:23 PM)
when you have a versatile fullback

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:45 PM)

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:50 PM)
irizzary, holmes, smith, perhaps clarret

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:19:57 PM)
based on need and what it can do for our team

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:20:11 PM)
every position would be a legitiamate thret

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:20:28 PM)
to change to someone else do you think trumiane smith or Michael Bell have a shot at an offer kirk?

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:22:17 PM)
depends on their camping id say

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:22:58 PM)
I think they have a shot, but it might be tough. WR really isn't a pressing need, and with Williams on board already and the possibility of Davis coming, they'd have to show a lot at camp and make themselves too good to pass up

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:23:22 PM)
I dont know about you guys but I sure wish we would have landed Dyshawn Wynn a few years ago he will be good at florida

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 2:24:31 PM)
Not sure we're missing him right now.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:24:59 PM)
no but he could contribut in two more years

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:25:11 PM)
he would be a redshirt fresh this year

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:25:34 PM)
start in two years have two years as our number 1

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:26:13 PM)
the board has died all of a sudden

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 2:26:34 PM)
possible. We'll have Pittman & Feguson as redshirts freshman at that point though. Tough to say. There wasn't much affection from either side it seemed with Wynn.

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:26:38 PM)
waht do yal ltihkn of daunte cloud?

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:26:56 PM)
is he camping?

edbuck51 (Jun 19, 2003 2:27:08 PM)
It's lunctime in California, and I don't like to miss lunch. See ya guys. By the way, I met Archie at an Alumni party Tuesday night. With guys like him and JT, you gotta feel good about the Buckeye family. John Brockington was there also. Another neat guy. Adios

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:27:24 PM)
bye edbuck

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:27:24 PM)
see ya ed

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:27:44 PM)
I would guess Dante Cloud is with the rest of the Glenville crew at all the camps

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:28:07 PM)
Kirk do you think the coaches are as high on Hoyer as some of the others

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:28:11 PM)
its incredible the db production that school has

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:28:34 PM)
By others, do you mean other QBs?

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:29:05 PM)
well no im sorry I mean other coaches and other gurus like yourself lol

HangOnSloopy (Jun 19, 2003 2:29:49 PM)
How is Freddie Lenix as a prospect? Is he more of a track guy?

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:30:22 PM)
I am one of those who likes Hoyer a lot, but I am not sure exactly how much OSU is interested. I would only call myself a guru of back pain and other various strange pain as well as wasting time with things like video games.

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:30:51 PM)
Lenix is a good football player. His size makes me wonder where he will play, but he's at least a top 20 kid in the junior class right now I'd think

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:31:42 PM)
my top five right now would be Byers, Freeman, The DE from Wisconsin-Anderson, Derrick Harvey

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:31:50 PM)
and Bolen

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:31:56 PM)
sorry that took me a while

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:01 PM)
no ginn or davis?

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:15 PM)
you would take bolen over ginn or davis or mitchim or gallimore

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:27 PM)
I want them but they are not as pressing of a need for the team

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:35 PM)
we need DE's bad

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:50 PM)
those two are at the top of the list

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:58 PM)
not trying to give ya a hard time orlando just dont agree

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:32:58 PM)
Byers is unreal

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:33:13 PM)
and we need LB's

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:33:26 PM)
I want all of the other guys bad too

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:33:39 PM)
I would take ferg over bolen

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:33:43 PM)
don't get me wrong but if I had to do a top five that would be it

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:01 PM)
the coaches obviously want Bolen pretty bad as a FB

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:25 PM)
Heck I also like toney johnson as a fb just not as much as Bolen

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:29 PM)
and they have said in the past that they are a little disappointed with what they are getting out of the current FB's

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:38 PM)
Well we have an interview with Brandon Braxton coming up... I need to sign off in a bit. Any last ?s?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:44 PM)

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:47 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:34:50 PM)
thank's again Kirk

Hubbard (Jun 19, 2003 2:35:05 PM)
Kirk who do you feel gets an offer this week?>

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:35:21 PM)
Davis and Ginn are phenomenal but we just are not in a dire need in there positions

Hubbard (Jun 19, 2003 2:35:24 PM)
Or if it w2as covered I'll read the transcript

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:35:30 PM)
do we have no interest in wamsley kirk because he had no versitlity

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:35:38 PM)
correct NY

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:35:44 PM)
not a need either

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:12 PM)
NY check out the video of Cerrick Harvey when you get a chance

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:23 PM)
where is he from

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:24 PM)
sorry Derrick Harvey

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:38 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:43 PM)
his video is unreal

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:52 PM)
Jevon Kearse like

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:55 PM)
In your mind kirk is zach logan a better prospect than wamsley

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:36:57 PM)
hes a stud

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:07 PM)
our we in on him orlando

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:09 PM)
all of the big boys have offered but we are not listed on there at all

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:21 PM)
Hmm, good question Hubbard. I'd look for a couple of O-linemen like Cadogan, maybe Rehring if he impresses. I wouldn't be surprised to see a RB offered, and I think we'll see a couple of defensive players offered. Tough to name names... I wouldn't have guessed Lukens last year.

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:39 PM)
have we offered him

Hubbard (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:44 PM)
Yeah I'm sure there are going to be some surprises waiting for us

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:48 PM)
the de from maryland

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:53 PM)
I have no idea if the have offered probably not

osukiks (Jun 19, 2003 2:37:59 PM)
alright boys im out, go bucks

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:38:00 PM)
and I am not sure why

Kirk (Jun 19, 2003 2:38:20 PM)
I've seen a little bit of each of those players ny but not really enough to decide... you have to like Logan's speed. He could play either S or CB I think. Wamsley has good size and athleticism and I'm interested to see how he does at WR this year.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:38:44 PM)
Boston College Medium None Yes Florida Medium None Yes Maryland Medium None Yes Miami-FL Medium None Yes Pittsburgh Medium None Yes Syracuse Medium None Yes Tennessee Medium None Yes Virginia Medium None Yes

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:39:15 PM)
ohio state high yes that would be cool

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 19, 2003 2:39:26 PM)
I found an article that says OSU could be on the verge of offering

nybucks (Jun 19, 2003 2:39:32 PM)
