Urban Meyer regards Ohio State's defensive line as the strength of his football team. It got a little stronger on April 17 when the Buckeyes accepted a verbal commitment from defensive end Tracy Sprinkle of Elyria, Ohio.

Sprinkle, a three-star prospect rated by Scout.com has the No. 41 overall defensive end in the 2013 class, is the ninth commitment for Ohio State. Offered 10 days ago, Sprinkle didn't take long to decide he wanted to be a Buckeye.

"I did commit to Ohio State," Sprinkle said in a text message to BuckeyeSports.com.

Sprinkle visited Ohio State on April 7 and left Columbus with an offer. The Buckeyes immediately shot to the top of his list. Sprinkle (6-4, 250) told Scout that he enjoyed the intensity in Ohio State's practices.

BuckeyeSports.com will have extended coverage of the Sprinkle commitment in the coming hours.
