Has anyone heard if Ferguson was at camp? I know there is a thread going on the board but I never saw an answer.

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:00:42 PM)
what do u make of the night game at wisconsin kirk

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 1:01:53 PM)
npt kirk, but that's BAD news (the Wisky game)

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:03:21 PM)
OK my clock has chimed 1. Let's get started!

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:03:49 PM)
Did Hoyer receive an offer at camp?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:03:50 PM)
I haven't heard anything definite, but I didn't see him there. I will also say that I was looking for him. But that doesn't mean for sure he wasn't there.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 1:03:50 PM)
Is Ferguson pretty much out of the picture now?

nbuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:04:21 PM)
kirk to your knowledge who been offered for offensive line?

clevelandbrowns (Jun 27, 2003 1:04:23 PM)
who is andrew johnson leaning to right now, if you had to pick, who would it be to, OSU or p pitt??

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:04:43 PM)
D'and Fan, that might be the one game I least wanted to see made into a night game. It was looking like a tough enough game as it was. But I don't think the Buckeyes will be intimidated.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:05:12 PM)
For what position is Erik Haw being recruited? LB, S, RB?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:05:48 PM)
I can't say for sure on Ferguson, but I think that assuming he is due to Haw is a bit premature. Haw is being recruited as a RB/ATH, so he could play different places.

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:05:50 PM)
LB sounds good

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:06:35 PM)
when Jacky Claude was his with the Florida contingent were u able to speak to him

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:07:29 PM)
browns, if I had to pick, I would say Pitt. That seems to be the buzz although I wonder if what Miami decides to do with the Big East will be an issue.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:07:43 PM)
I have heard we are not in Morelli's top 3. Have we been eliminated by Morelli?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:07:54 PM)
We haven't spoken to Claude just yet. I tried calling there once but he wasn't there.

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:08:26 PM)
there was a special on morelli on fox sports last night where he named his top 5 w/ osu

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:08:42 PM)
There was a report in a Pitts paper that showed he had top three and we weren't in it and he said he didn't care if the BE broke up and he raved about Walt Harris. I will try to find the link.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:09:33 PM)
I think it would be fabulous if Morelli came to OSU, but I am not holding my breath. Truth be told, I wonder why some people got so optimistic in the first place.

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:10:05 PM)
Did Hoyer receive any attention or an offer from OSU?

nbuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:10:13 PM)
kirk was rehring offered and cadogen?

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:10:19 PM)
has anyone seen the video on rivals of mike teel QB from new jersey......... one of the more impressive QB films on there listing us I thought

clevelandbrowns (Jun 27, 2003 1:10:42 PM)
kirk: hate to put you on the spot..but who do you think is most LIKELY to be the next commit, outside of haw

scribeohio (Jun 27, 2003 1:11:32 PM)
Kirk, did you hear any camp news about any QB's? Macie for example

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:11:59 PM)
What about Brian Brohm? Has he shown interest in OSU and has OSU shown any interest in him? He seems like a QB that would really fit into our offense.

Photo E (Jun 27, 2003 1:12:29 PM)
Kirk, just sent some pics from yesterday. Hey all!

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 1:12:41 PM)

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:12:46 PM)
Regarding Hoyer, Rehring, and Cadogan... those are the guys we need to track down and find out about. If Hoyer had been offered though, I am pretty sure we would have known by now.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 1:13:21 PM)
How many guys are thinking about enrolling early this year? Ginn? Others?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:13:33 PM)
browns, I think they will offer an Ohio OL sooner or later, and whoever it is will be next.

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 1:13:42 PM)
Davis says he wants to enroll early

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 1:13:43 PM)
Davis, I think I read somewhere about Freeman enrolling early too

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:14:00 PM)

scribeohio (Jun 27, 2003 1:15:00 PM)
Duane has said before that big time QB's look for schools that product NFL QB's and they type of offense run (particularly OOS QB's). Unless we show some O I think landing one of these will be tough but not impossible. Still Morelli seems too bent on the NFL thing and not enough team/NC. Hoyer/Macie types would be fine with me.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:15:11 PM)
scribeohio, we are going to call Maciejowski and Petruziello today. There was also an Indiana QB there (I think his name might have been Mark Nicolet) who people thought was good. Brian Hoyer mentioned him.

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 1:15:39 PM)
What ever happened to Bob Miller?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:15:57 PM)
Yes, PhotoE sent pictures... now comes the task of figuring out who they all are :)

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:16:39 PM)
Any news on Bullock or Barrow?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:16:46 PM)
Sloopy, I don't know off the top of my head other than Ginn, Freeman, and Davis, but it's going around, that's for sure. It seems like more and more people are thinking about it.

Photo E (Jun 27, 2003 1:16:46 PM)
Kirk you will recognize all of them, including Nicolet, because I only sent you the ones I knew!!

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:17:44 PM)
PhotoE, I already looked at them and I don't recognize them all. :) I will send you the pics of guys I don't recognize... if you could, give me a name real quick

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:18:54 PM)
Barrow is on the hunt down list for today. Duane's chasing him down. Bullock is a guy we'll have to call soon too, as is Miller. HAven't heard anything about how they did.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:19:42 PM)
The D-linemen and the LBs were guys who went off to another field while I was watching the DBs, WRs and QBs most of the time. I unfortunately didn't find out where the others went when they split up

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:19:45 PM)
is frank morton strictly a DT because of his size? only 6'2

Photo E (Jun 27, 2003 1:20:20 PM)
I do not know if Kirk mentioned this, but the camp this year was about 3-4 times bigger than last year. Some great players were there as well as some ex-Bucks including; Tomzack, Steve Tovar, Jeff Uhlenhank (sp?), Mike Doss, Andy Groom (he was working out), and Bernie Kosar was there too.

Photo E (Jun 27, 2003 1:21:04 PM)
Oops, gotta go. See ya.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 1:21:07 PM)
Has anyone else heard that Tovar might be in line for a coaching position?

Brutusbucki (Jun 27, 2003 1:21:55 PM)
Did Morelli show up for camp?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:22:21 PM)
I think so. I just called the Morton house about 45 min ago to talk to him and he wasn't there, but I think he's probably strictly DT.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:22:33 PM)
I didn't see Morelli there yesterday

Brutusbucki (Jun 27, 2003 1:23:13 PM)
How did Ferguson look?

clevelandbrowns (Jun 27, 2003 1:23:52 PM)
kirk: what out of state guys were there?? byers??

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:24:19 PM)
I didn't see Ferguson there... I've been saying since yesterday that this doesn't mean he wasn't there, but I must say I'm starting to assume he wasn't.

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:24:39 PM)
i've all but given up on him

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:25:32 PM)
Nick Smith seemed to be getting some attention, was asked back the second day, any word on him?

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 1:25:41 PM)
He could be a late addition, ala Frost last year. Coaches might want to see him play this year

StillThe#1D'AndFan (Jun 27, 2003 1:26:37 PM)
smith would be great for the O line he is huge

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:26:53 PM)
There were a bunch of out-of-state players there, but as for big names, I don't think there were that many. There were a couple "under the radar" guys that we liked, one was a NJ WR and we are kicking ourselves because we lost his name. Another was S Nick Patterson from Missouri. I thought he looked good. Brandon Barrett from WV was another. I must say I thought he'd be bigger, but he looked solid.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:27:35 PM)
We talked to Smith today and will have an update coming. He didn't get an offer, but OSU wants to see how things go this year. He is being moved to DE and they want to see how he does. He is surely a big kid.

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 1:28:13 PM)
Sorry that I'm late. Have I missed any major news?

nbuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:28:28 PM)

Brutusbucki (Jun 27, 2003 1:29:06 PM)
How about the in-state OL guys like Incarnato, Cadogen, Rehring? Were they all there and did you get a chance to form an opinion bout any of them?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:30:39 PM)
Incarnato to my knowledge wasn't there. I think OSU has some catching up to do with him. Cadogan was there but I didn't see him unfortunately. Rehring was there; he has a real good frame. Big kid for sure, I don't think that 6-8 is exaggerated.

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:32:25 PM)
Was Gary Russell there and how did he look, offer?

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:33:12 PM)
Good morning, just getting in. Did anybody talk about F.Morton yet? I love getting OOS kids. This guy doesn't sound quite as highly ranked as some of the OOSers were in on?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:33:39 PM)
I'm starting to feel useless since I didn't really get as great of a look at the RBs, but I didn't notice if Russell was there. I don't know what he looks like though so I didn't recognize him.

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:33:59 PM)
Was Trumaine Smith there?

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 1:34:04 PM)
Duane is getting some tape from Haw isn't he?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:35:03 PM)
I didn't see Smith, but I would be pretty surprised if he wasn't there for at least one of the sessions. As you can see by the list of guys we have to call to find out about, we have a lot of work to do! :)

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:35:17 PM)
Kirk. What was your overall impression of this large group. Hard working, fast, strong? Did you see J. O'neal?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:35:36 PM)
Regarding Morton, Scott Kennedy posted on the UGa board that Morton is probably going to be a three-star guy. I once sent for tape and never got anything; we'll have to try again.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:37:04 PM)
edbuck, Hard working is a good way to put it. From what I saw, these guys were all serious and really wanted to show what they could do. Remember other coaches were there too (Kent State, Youngstown State to name a couple), so it was a big day for them. They were also fast and most of them were pretty much in shape. I did see O'Neal; we have a pic of him coming today. I can't wait to see him in a Buckeye uniform. He's a player.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:37:40 PM)
Awesome on JO.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:38:00 PM)
Kirk, I'm finally here.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:38:43 PM)
DB - welcome. Who was the most impressive Olineman you saw?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:38:45 PM)
Hi Dave. Dave checked out some guys too yesterday; feel free to ask him any team questions or on what he saw.

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:01 PM)
Dave was there a Delbert Ferguson sighting or no?

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:11 PM)
How did Cadogan and Rehring look?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:14 PM)
ed: unfortunately, i didn't get to see very much of the o-linemen. they had them on a different field.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:26 PM)
hubbard: we did not see delbert there.

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:31 PM)
This is too funny...

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:49 PM)

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:39:56 PM)
I will throw this out there on the O-linemen... from a glance, they looked like they could move quite well during 40 times. A couple of those guys were haulin' booty

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:41:10 PM)
Is anybody else getting worried that the class is filling up to fast? Hopefully there will be plenty of schollies left in Dec/Jan when the big blue-chips start committing.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:41:56 PM)
i think there will be plenty left for the big names who wait until close to signing day.

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 1:42:13 PM)
We still have 16-17 schollies left so no worry. Better to get a kid like Haw than lose him to scUM. W/ JT in charge in don't worry anymore.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:42:20 PM)
Lineman that can haul booty. What a relief. Grind meat and air it out. Nice combination. Sounds like Miami.

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:42:27 PM)
How did Hoyer look and word about him possibly getting an offer?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:42:47 PM)
Hubbard, re: your earlier question -- Haw and Jason Chapman are our top two tape priorities right now.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:42:56 PM)
hoyer didn't look all that great yesterday. he wants an offer from osu pretty bad, but he was not offered yesterday as far as we know.

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 1:43:03 PM)
I can't wait to see them!!

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:43:15 PM)
How did recent commitment Frank Morton look?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:43:43 PM)
I think it won't be a problem edbuck... every year we start to wonder how they'll fit everyone in, but for the most part, it works out. This year, they have a bunch to give, so there's still a lot of room.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:43:59 PM)
not sure about morton

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:44:16 PM)
I thought Hoyer certainly had the best arm of the QBs

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 1:44:35 PM)
Were there any LB's that stood out as worthy of getting an offer?

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 1:45:09 PM)
Can you name a top five of who you saw as the most impressive?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:45:10 PM)
I think Dave would agree that the LB that stood out already has one (Freeman) :) He sort of leaped out at you.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:45:16 PM)
Wasn't Morelli supposed to "stop by"? Has anybody run across him? He sure looks like a QB.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:46:03 PM)
Of the DB

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:46:06 PM)

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:46:10 PM)
bucknut13: since they weren't in pads, it's kind of hard to make that assessment. if you are just talking about the john cooper look test, several guys passed.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:46:21 PM)
Of the DB's which ones stood out the most?

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:46:32 PM)
Freeman really sounds like a Buckeye waiting to happen.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:47:01 PM)
Sirjo Welch, Ginn, Underwood, O'Neal all looked good.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:47:28 PM)
bucknut13, I would say that of the guys I saw, Ginn stood out. I don't know if making a top five would be good, but I thought Tony Howard looked pretty good. Nick Patterson from Missouri looked solid. Sirjo ran well.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:47:48 PM)
Do you think Underwood performed well enough to warrant an offer?

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:47:56 PM)
That sounds like a pretty solid starting secondary. Which one is going to return punts?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:48:00 PM)
Morelli wasn't there I'm pretty sure

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 1:48:03 PM)
any OOS big names there dave

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:48:16 PM)
It's hard to say from just a one-day camp, but i bet he will get an offer. notre dame is his frontrunner right now though.

nbuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:48:26 PM)
i think underwood has a offer pending film

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:49:04 PM)
Did anybody stop by the kickers camp?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:49:31 PM)
yes, brandon barrett (wr, west virginia) was there.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:49:57 PM)
The kickers camp was sort of running simultaneously beside the sr advanced camp... there were a lot of people at that camp too. I took quick glances but it was tough to notice anything.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:50:57 PM)
I wonder if the rams kicker from ysu was helping with the camp?

RossfordBuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:03 PM)
Sorry I'm late Kirk, but any word on more offers, verbals?

scribeohio (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:05 PM)
I believe Kyle Williams is visiting us this weekend. He's been to PSU/Miami, I think.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:22 PM)
Any updates with Brandon Barret? Are the Bucks still looking good?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:23 PM)
Nothing yet rossford

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:24 PM)
ball hawk: i think there were a couple more big name out of staters there, but i don't have a solid list.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:33 PM)
Frank Morton was there :)

RossfordBuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:44 PM)
Wow, really slow for camp time.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:51:49 PM)
and weren't there a couple big linebackers from miami?

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 1:52:10 PM)
haha yeah..... and jacky claude was mentioned i'm the d'and fan too i like these soph LBs

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:52:12 PM)
Javier Estopinan and Vernon Wilder?

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:52:31 PM)
We need to catch up with these guys too. it should be a few days before it"s all sorted out

scribeohio (Jun 27, 2003 1:52:57 PM)
Kirk, it's too early to call this camp a dud but about 3500 kids/300 in the 2 day advanced camp. Why so few offers/news?

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 1:53:24 PM)
kirk have u guys seen the pic of jonathan carpenter...... its too bad he isnt taller he is ripped

RossfordBuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:53:28 PM)
So has Hoyer taken himself completely ouit of the picture now with his camp showing?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:53:35 PM)
there might be some offers on the table, but the coaching staff asked the players not to say anything... that is my best guess.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:53:41 PM)
Javi was scheduled to be up there at wrestling camp and was talking about stopping by but i didn"t see him> my keyboard is screwed up so sorry if this message looks weird> i didn"t notice if wilder was there

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:54:03 PM)

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:54:06 PM)
no, hoyer is still in the picture... he has a strong arm like kirk said, but needs to work on his accuracy and getting stronger.

RossfordBuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:54:31 PM)
Would you put him in the same league as Boeckman?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:54:52 PM)
yes, that is a good comparison. there were many questions about boeckman after last year's camp.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 1:55:24 PM)
are there still a lot of questions about boeckman?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:55:25 PM)
i actually think boeckman looked good at last year's camp, he was just overshadowed by quinn.

scribeohio (Jun 27, 2003 1:55:46 PM)
Hoyer said he lifted weights on Wed and throwing to new receivers caused some problems. He also may be pressing too much for an offer. Thoughts?

RossfordBuck (Jun 27, 2003 1:56:02 PM)
makes sense scribe

scribeohio (Jun 27, 2003 1:56:09 PM)
How did Macie compare to Hoyer?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:56:21 PM)
i think you are right on there scribe.

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 1:56:30 PM)
What did you think of the Indiana QB Dave?

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 1:56:45 PM)
Who ran the fastest 40 of the camp? Haw?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:56:56 PM)
didn't see too much of him, but even hoyer admitted he looked like the best qb of the bunch.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:57:31 PM)
Dave, his name was Mark Nicolet, right?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:57:44 PM)
that sounds right. i will have to double check.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 1:58:19 PM)
If Haw ran a 4.21, I doubt anyone ran faster. I'm pretty sure Ginn didn't run; not sure why.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:58:32 PM)
ginn didn't run because of a hip pointer.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:58:54 PM)
but o'neal and ginn both said they have been timed as low as 4.22 and 4.25 respectively.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 1:59:33 PM)
by the way, this o'neal kid is a gym rat if i've ever seen one. loves the game.

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 1:59:33 PM)
if the coaches told the players not to say anything why would they do that? I doubt any of them would affect reeling some big blue chipper in

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:00:01 PM)
just a guess, don't put too much stock in that... but i bet there was some of that going on.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:00:16 PM)
Who stood out among the WR's besides Davis? How did Trumain Smith perform?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:01:24 PM)
there was this kid from jersey who looked real good. we interviewed him, but couldn't understand his name when i played back my tape... as good as he looked though, the only offer he had on the table was from towson st.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:01:32 PM)
A lot of times, the way a school recruits a player can affect the way another school recruits a player

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:01:51 PM)
For now, he's known to us as "The guy in the blue shirt"

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:02:01 PM)
was is Dwayne Jarret? he is a standout wr for NJ. He probably has more offers though.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:02:02 PM)
that is right :-)

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:02:03 PM)
so when/where will the lynch mob be meeting to go after dennis dodd

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:02:18 PM)
i missed this, what did dodd say?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:02:54 PM)
that was not "blue shirts" name

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:03:06 PM)
he really has done himself in....... he came out with a list of cfb's 25 greatest stadiums

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:03:11 PM)
Did anyone see byers anywhere around?

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:03:14 PM)
no 'shoe

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:03:40 PM)
he really should go to some of the stadiums before writing a piece like that.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:03:45 PM)
I didn't see Byers but he wasn't scheduled to camp to my knowledge, he was just stopping by to check out campus this summer

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:04:50 PM)
is dodd trying to get a job with the sporting news or something?

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:05:16 PM)
get him and trev to work together

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:05:45 PM)
obviously...... he listed fresno state, army, byu the list goes on

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:05:49 PM)
if you make a list of the top stadiums and the horseshoe isn't in at least the top five, you really don't know what you are talking about.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:06:31 PM)
just a small biased opinion.

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:06:52 PM)
Dave- What do you think they are waiting for on Cadogen and Rehring. Sounds like if either was offered they would be Bucks in a second

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:07:29 PM)
that is a good question, i would think osu would want to reel in as many top lineman as early as possible... kind of like what we saw two years ago.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:07:48 PM)
but i bet those guys have offers soon enough.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:07:59 PM)
Maybe they know the kids will wait for an OSU offer. Just a guess.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:08:02 PM)
Could be waiting for OOS OL to decide. They have extended a few offers to many top OOS OL.

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:08:05 PM)
Hello everyone

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:08:09 PM)
Do you think they are "silent"offers in hopes of still being able to attract as many other OOS blue-chippers as possible?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:08:30 PM)
i think that might be true.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:09:20 PM)
With Hart, Byers, Gallimore, Mitchum, Person and Braxton, don't you wait on those guys first?

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:09:33 PM)
Do you think the early offer to Lane was a legacy offer that may come back to hurt the Bucks?

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:09:35 PM)
If the cards feel right, would you feel that they should take as many as 8-9 OL this year or should they limit it at 5-6 and use some the following yr?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:10:00 PM)
i think six would be a good number.

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 2:10:28 PM)
I always get worried a guy like Cadogan or Rehring will get tired of waiting, especially when they already have offers from places like scUM and Penn St.

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:10:35 PM)
Is the class of '05 shaping up to have some real stud OL or will it look like the class of '03

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:10:52 PM)
There are different opinions on Lane but I don't think he was just a legacy offer. He's certainly not without skills.

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:11:13 PM)
Do you see Massey getting an offer or will he be odd man out being that DL isn't as big of a need this year

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:11:30 PM)
I think 5 or 6, maybe 7 if they get a big out-of-state coup

BuckNutty (Jun 27, 2003 2:11:30 PM)
Hasn't Massey already been offered?

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:11:33 PM)
I think massey already has an offer

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:12:15 PM)
six is good, but you might take more if you get commits from all the big boys which is unlikely. jackie claude is another one. i think rehring and cadogan are just in a numbers bind. isn't that frosty icon starting to look tasty?

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:13:20 PM)
what about juniors-to-be Alex Boone and Mario Manningham. Do you see them commiting to the Bucks sometime in the near future? Are they OSU leans?

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:13:21 PM)
Yeah, especially as I sit here trying to close a sponsorship deal w/ Miller. I was salivating before you mentioned it

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:14:05 PM)
close the deal, maybe they'll throw some samples your way

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 2:15:21 PM)
massey is someone who has been quiet for quite a while

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:15:39 PM)
Dave- Have you heard of any other in-state guys that are thinking about enrolling early other than Freeman and Davis. Would Ginn?

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:15:59 PM)
Other than Haw and Morton were any other offers extended after camp, sorry if you already answered this question.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:16:10 PM)
I think Boone is a lean to OSU. Manningham could be although we haven't really gotten through to him yet.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:16:13 PM)
not sure about that... i didn't even know freeman was looking to do that until i interviewd him yesterday. clarett is quite the trendsetter.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:16:33 PM)
last year i kept quiet on the crable threads, and wasn't sad when he made his decision. i feel the same way about massey.

Mike68 (Jun 27, 2003 2:16:45 PM)
I love the early enrollers. Forget the prom, we got titles to win!

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:16:59 PM)
Dave's gotta run... any last questions for him? I'll stick around for a few min

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:17:10 PM)
yeah, there is no doubt where their focus is (and the girls look better in college anyway)

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:17:22 PM)
Jim, we're working on trying to find out offers but haven't heard anything new/

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:17:52 PM)
Don't you think Ginn will want to stay in school and run track?

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:17:54 PM)
Dave, Kirk who do you guys think is the next commit?

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 2:17:56 PM)
Does Freeman coming to our camp and not scUM's say anything or is that just what his work schedule allowed?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:18:30 PM)
i would guess one of the linemen: probably cadogan.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:18:43 PM)
If I had to guess I would say the next commit would be an in-state OL that they offer. Sorry to be boring and not give a name, but I am not sure who the next offer would be of course

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:18:43 PM)
i hope u guys enjoyed what O'Neal said like I did....... he said he didnt like the surroundings at Michigan and was only there to show them what they wouldnt have

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:19:01 PM)
i think freeman is definitely leaning towards osu.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:19:07 PM)
Thanks guys for the time and information.

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:19:17 PM)
How cool was it when Jamario said he want to michigan's camp and didn't like it up there at all? I love this guy already.

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:19:29 PM)
yes, he is a likable young man

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 2:19:36 PM)
Did the coaches spend a lot of time with Freeman?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:20:00 PM)
probably, but they did so in the private meeting rooms. they didn't really favor anyone out on the fields.

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:20:17 PM)
D Biddle- you were at the camp, did you see Haw in person and if so, did he really stand out from the other campers?

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:21:08 PM)
i did not see him.

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:21:22 PM)
Kirk, did you see Haw?

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:21:39 PM)
you couldn't see him cause he went by you so fast

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:21:47 PM)

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:21:56 PM)
sorry I am late

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:00 PM)
Of all the guys you did see who really stood out?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:03 PM)
Did I miss anything good

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:17 PM)
ok guys, time for me to check out. go bucks!

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:19 PM)

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:19 PM)
Will there be a chat transcript posted?

edbuck51 (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:28 PM)
thanks db

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:31 PM)

HangOnSloopy (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:32 PM)
thanks dave

D Biddle (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:34 PM)
no problem, hope to talk to all of you soon.

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:22:42 PM)

bucknut13 (Jun 27, 2003 2:23:01 PM)
Thanks DB.

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:23:21 PM)
Yep we'll get a transcript... keep an eye on the front page because it could be buried underneath the stuff we want to post today

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:23:25 PM)
So was there anything real new and interesting other than Haw and the Georgia kid

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:23:40 PM)
Jim I thought Ginn stood out well

Buckeye City (Jun 27, 2003 2:23:54 PM)
nope NORLANDO it doesnt look like it.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:24:04 PM)
Kirk have you seen Haw

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:24:17 PM)
and are you happy he will be a Buckeye

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:26:06 PM)
Kirk- when comparing scUM's early class to ours, dont you think scUM's really reaching on a lot of guys?

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:26:30 PM)
skelton I do not think so they already have 3 top 100 guys

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:26:31 PM)
Haven't seen him yet. I think though he is a good get. Great athleticism and it sounds like he versatility.

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:26:43 PM)
thanks Kirk

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:27:01 PM)
I can't wait to get a pic of him and see some video of him running

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:28:11 PM)
Does anyone know if Rehring or anyone else has been offered

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:28:29 PM)
also there has been some talk whether or not Tony Johnson has been offered

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:28:35 PM)
Jim, I don't know about that. I think they have some underrated kids, one of them being Max Martin. Morgan Trent and Will Johnson are guys who have been on top 100 lists. DeBenedictis was a guy they were debating, but I think they are doing pretty well.

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 2:29:08 PM)
Kirk any idea on when The Insiders will come out with some rankings?

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:29:22 PM)
how is alex mitchell on the 100 list

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:29:41 PM)
he had no real impressive offers his 40 is listed as 5.4 whats so great about him

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:29:52 PM)
not sure Hawk

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:30:26 PM)
Hubbard, Monday actually I think.

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:30:32 PM)
i also dont think morgan trent will survive the 100 list

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:30:38 PM)
Sometimes it just helps being a standout in a state that is not a power in developing football players it makes you stand out more

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:30:56 PM)
They might be coming out with the whole schmear, as Rodney said in Caddyshack. That means maybe all the star rankings.

Hubbard (Jun 27, 2003 2:30:58 PM)

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:31:09 PM)
and Hart's a midget, he'll never make it in the B10

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:31:22 PM)
can you say anthony davis

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:31:42 PM)
Barry Sanders

Ball_Hawk47 (Jun 27, 2003 2:31:44 PM)
i think max martin looks like their best get but i'm not worried yet

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:32:06 PM)
just cause they are small does not automatically mean they cannot play

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:32:33 PM)
I was very impressed with the Pernell Williams video that I saw and cannot believe he is only 5'8 he did not look it

Jimskelton (Jun 27, 2003 2:32:48 PM)
Name the last B10 standout 180lb RB

BuckeyeNOrlando (Jun 27, 2003 2:32:52 PM)
he is also 210 lbs so he is put together well

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:33:22 PM)
Ok guys, I have to take off... Duane's got some recruiting updates I want to get. Plus I want to get these photos posted of camp. I will talk to everyone soon1

Kirk (Jun 27, 2003 2:33:29 PM)
