Wyomissing (Pa.) High outside linebacker Alex Anzalone
is back in the recruiting game after rescinding his oral commitment to Ohio State
The four-star prospect confirmed his decision via text message, and added he needs to re-evaluate the process.
"This decision is based on what's best for my future and my family," Anzalone said via text message.
His commitment to Ohio State last month was a bit odd in that it was tweeted by another recruit in attendance, but the usually-available Anzalone elected not to discuss it publicly when it happened.
He immediately becomes one of the outside linebackers on the board of many schools while also being a running back target for schools like Notre Dame and Stanford.
Anzalone was also giving heavy consideration to Penn State and Florida before he committed to Ohio State.
Anzalone is the 10th-rated outside linebacker in the 2013 class and also held offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia.
The plans is to re-open his recruitment before making a final decision.
