Add Karl Towns' name to the growing list of elite basketball talent expected to be on hand for Kentucky's "Big Blue Madness" on Friday at Rupp Arena.
The five-star 2015 big man announced via the Twitter social network on Wednesday that he plans to make a return trip to Lexington for the event. Towns spent a couple of weeks on the UK campus this summer as part of the John Calipari-coached Dominican Republic National Team.
Wrote Towns, aka @KATis32: "#BBN. Time to come back and see some old friends. Be there for big blue madness. See u there #kentuckywildcats."
Towns is currently rated No. 1 in the sophomore class by Scout and FOXSportsNEXT. The 6-foot-10 New Jersey prospect joins the recently committed Harrison twins, Andrew and Aaron of Texas, homegrown Kentucky commit Derek Willis, Michigan swingman James Young, California center Marcus Lee, Chicago big man Cliff Alexander (2014) and Indiana point guard Jaquan Lyle (2014) as those expected to attend Madness. A handful of other prospects are also reportedly considering a trip to Lexington. Stay tuned to KentuckyScout for updates on their status.
