Slippery Rock kept it close for much of the first half, training just 29-23 at the 8 minute mark. But The Rock went cold at that point and U-M gradually pulled to a 44-30 half time lead.
Tim Hardaway led the Wolverines at the half with 12 points (2-2 in tre's) and 7 rebounds, and Glenn Robinson and Tre Burke added 8 points apiece.
Slippery Rock hit the first 4 points coming out of the break to make it 44-34, but Tim Hardaway hit a tomahawk dunk and 2 tre's and Burke hit a duce as U-M went on a 10-0 run to make it 54-34 at the 16:45 mark.
Led by 2 baskets each by Burke and Hardaway U-M stretched the lead to 64-40 at the 11:45 mark.
Michigan coasted from there, with Hardaway and Burke staying hot and Mitch McGary showing some strength on the boards inside.
When the lead hit 30, 82-52, at the 4 minute mark, U-M cleared the bench.
Hardaway led U-M with 25 points (5-5 in tre's) and 10 rebounds. Burke had 21 points and 8 assists. Glenn Robinson added 10 points. McGary had 9 points and 9 rebounds.
U-M shot 56.9%, and were 12-19 in three pointers (63.2%)
The Wolverines' next game is Monday night at Crisler versus Indiana-Purdue.
