Lynden (Wash.) vs. Olympia (Wash.) Capital at Tacoma Dome at 1:00 p.m.
Lynden is looking to win another 2A state title and they'll travel down to the Tacoma Dome for the 2A state semifinals. They'll bring a talented squad which is led by Washington State verbal Matt Meyer on the offensive line and defensive end Caleb Newman, who has an offer from the Cougars among others. Capital will have a nice, more local crowd on hand for the semifinals. (@BrandonHuffman)
Snoqualmie (Wash.) Mount Si vs. Bellevue (Wash.) at Tacoma Dome at 7:00 p.m.
Bellevue is the prohibitive favorite to win the 3A state title, which would be its fifth in a row. The Wolverines are ranked fifth in the country by FoxSportsNext.com, and have really not been tested by anyone in state. And they're in their home away from home, the Tacoma Dome. Mount Si was chugging along earlier this year, unbeaten, before they met Bellevue in a league game, and promptly got walloped. Now they take on a Wolverine team that's even more motivated to win another title. Junior quarterback Nick Mitchell will lead Mount Si, who also has Washington commit Cameron Van Winkle as their punter and kicker. And they'll have to play the game of their lives against a loaded Wolverines team, led by UCLA commit Myles Jack, the top outside linebacker in the region, 2014 two-way athlete Budda Baker, a top 10 player at his position in his class, and Sean Constantine, a linebacker who's headed to Washington. Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) at Vista Murrieta (Calif.) at 7:00 p.m.
Rancho Cucamonga is led by one of the nation's top secondary's in USC commit Chris Hawkins and elite safety Tahaan Goodman. Hawkins is a lock down corner and Goodman, looking at USC, UCLA, LSU, Nebraska, Washington and several others, is a big hitter at safety with cover skills. Inside linebacker Viliami Latu is a tremendous prospect and his twin brother Alani Latu can fly around and hit. The twins will both play for Arizona State next fall. Oregon State commit Jermel Walker is an explosive wide out and leads the Cougars offense. Vista Murrieta is led by the top player in the entire West region in Su'a Cravens. Cravens is a dominant linebacker/safety on defense and is a big play threat at receiver as well. Quarterback Nick Stevens, headed to Colorado State, has a big arm and is one of the state's most under-rated prospects. Treshon Broughton is a talented cover corner and an Oregon State lean an junior linebacker Greg Hoyd is another player to watch closely in this one. (@GregBiggins)
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei at Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m.
Two of the traditional Southland powers meet in a CIF-SS Pac-5 semifinal matchup. Mater Dei is headed by four-star tight end Thomas Duarte, the #2-ranked tight end in the West, as well as 2014 cornerback Jonathan Lockett, a Scout 300 prospect for his class. The Seraphs boast Arizona verbal Zachary Green at running back, who's been stellar this season, and two of the top underclassmen in the West, 2015 quarterback Ricky Town, who has offers from Miami and UCLA, and Scout 300 2014 tight end Bryce Dixon, who is nearing double-digit offers. Saturday: Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe vs. Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton at 12 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium (Division 1 State Championship)
Mountain Pointe beat Hamilton in week one and the Huskies will be out to avenge the loss. If you love good battles in the trenches, this is a must see. Mt. Pointe features two-way starters Kenny Lacy (UCLA commit) and junior Natrell Curtis. Hamilton's junior DE Qualen Cunningham is a special player that already holds multiple BCS offers. Hamilton's offensive line features USC commit Casey Tucker and Army commit Patrick Joseph.(@jason247scout)
Saturday: Goodyear (Ariz.) Liberty vs. Queen Creek (Ariz.) at 3 p.m. at Sun Devil Stadium (Division 3 State Championship)
This should be a great match-up of undefeated teams. Queen Creek is led by 2,000 yard rusher Matt Guida while Desert Edge is as fast on defense as I have seen this year. Their OLB Ismael Murphy-Richardson has a chance to be special.(@jason247scout)
Saturday: Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial vs. Oro Valley (Ariz.) Ironwood Ridge at 7 p.m. at Sun Devil Stadium (Division 2 State Championship)
Centennial is looking for revenge against the only team to beat them this year. The Coyotes are strong up front and have an offensive line with four D1 prospects. Seniors Hayden Johnson and Spencer Nathe each have Air Force offers and juniors Layth Friekh and Kamryn Bennett will be FBS players. Friekh already has offers from Oregon State, Utah, Washington and Arizona. UCLA commit RB Jalen Ortiz is having a monster year on both sides of the ball. Ironwood Ridge revolves around three-star CB Tyler Williams. Williams plays quarterback and is a difference maker. He holds offers from Colorado, San Diego State and Army as a defensive back.
