Recruiting Run Continues For Berger

Cleveland St. Ignatius junior linebacker Kyle Berger has received more good news Tuesday, as this afternoon he landed his second impressive offer of the day. Michigan has followed Penn State in pursuit of Berger.

What started out as a normal school day at Cleveland St.Ignatius for junior linebacker Kyle Berger has suddenly turned into something special.

Berger, 6-foot-2, 215-pounds, learned this morning that Penn State had offered him a scholarship, his sixth to date. Later in the afternoon, another top BCS program made their intentions known.

"I was just offered by Michigan," Berger stated. "I can't believe how great today has been for me, and I never expected Michigan to offer this soon. I am super excited about having a Michigan offer, and this means a lot to me."

"I was at Michigan for camp last summer and really liked that coaching staff a lot," he added. "The campus was beautiful, and I just think a lot of the Michigan program overall. It would be very cool to possibly follow in the footsteps of (former St. Ignatius star) Jake Ryan. Because of my basketball schedule it's hard to schedule unofficial visits, but I'm definitely going to get back up to Michigan. It might be after my basketball season, but I'm going to try to get there sooner."

Berger, one of the top 2014 prospects in Ohio, also holds offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State and West Virginia.
