Chicago Prospects In Iowa

Several of Chicago's top prospects made the trip to Iowa for junior day Friday -- check out their quick reactions inside.

The Chicago area was well represented at Iowa's Sunday junior day.

Several of the area's top prospects including early four-star Plainfield South linebacker Clifton Garrett, top quarterback Clayton Thorson of Wheaton North and Jacksonville tight end prospect Blake Hance.

One of the best stories of the day comes from Plainfield South's Garrett -- who received confirmation of an offer from the Hawkeyes.

The catch is, he's had the offer since May.

"When I asked Coach Wood what I had to do to earn an offer he said I have had it since May," Garrett said laughing.

Garrett has offers from all over the country, including Illinois, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss and more.

Now he can officially add Iowa to that list.

"The junior day went really well," Garrett said. "I got to see a lot of what they have to offer as far as football."

Thorson, who got to take in Saturday's basketball game against Wisconsin with his family, also enjoyed the junior day experience.

"My parents and I sat down with Coach Ferentz for about a half hour, so that was nice to talk with him for a little bit and learn more about the program."

Thorson most recently picked up an offer from Minnesota, and has offers from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Penn State and others.

All in all, the day seems to have left a very positive impression on the Chicago area juniors that made the trip.
