Gibson Reaffirms West Virginia Pledge

Has the tumultuous recruitment of four-star wide receiver Shelton Gibson reached "final decision" status? It appears so after Wednesday's comments to FoxSportsNext.

The recruitment of four-star wide receiver Shelton Gibson has taken several turns over the last month, from official visits to Ohio State, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee, resulting in a commitment to the Mountaineers.

Gibson, who committed to West Virginia a week ago, followed up that decision by taking his official visit to Tennessee last weekend. After that visit, Gibson announced he would be taking return trips to both West Virginia and Tennessee over the next two weeks.

It now appears that only one of those visits will be taking place.

"My visit to Tennessee last week was very cool," Gibson stated Wednesday afternoon. "And I am going to visit West Virginia this weekend as I had already planned. I am solid in my commitment to West Virginia."

"I will not be taking another trip to Tennessee, or anywhere else," he added. "This weekend's trip to West Virginia will be the last visit."

FoxSportsNext will continue to track Gibson all the way through National Signing Day.
