Interest increasing in Lloyd

Johnathan Lloyd is one of the 2014 prospects in North Carolina. The Graham (N.C.) Southern Alamance star continues to attract interest from across the country.

For Johnathan Lloyd, there is no offseason. He is a three-sport star at his high school.

"I've been playing basketball, we are in the middle of conference play right now," said Lloyd. "Coaches from Notre Dame and North Carolina came to my game last week.

Lloyd is up 12 scholarship offers with the latest coming from Indiana on Wednesday. Along with the schools that have offered, several others have been consistently recruiting him.

"Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, and Alabama have all been sending me a lot of stuff," he said.

Lloyd said Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma State are sending him the most mail.

Next up for the 6-foot, 185-pound Lloyd will be trips to some in-state schools.

"I'm going (North) Carolina, ECU, and N.C. State for junior days," said Lloyd, who could play quarterback, wide receiver, or defensive back in college. "Those are the only ones I have planned right now, but I might go to Clemson and Georgia also."

The Southern Alamance star said he would also like to visit some spring practices, but has not set anything up yet.

Lloyd said is going to try to visit Florida, Notre Dame, and Ohio State this summer.

Despite all the interest, Lloyd claims no favorites at this time.

"Honestly, I'm still pretty wide open, but I'm going to probably narrow my list down sometime this spring," said Lloyd. "I'll probably narrow it down to seven schools – or somewhere around there. Comfort level, offensive system, and academics are the things that are important to me."

During his junior season, Lloyd threw for 1,448 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,215 yards and 19 touchdowns. Lloyd also had an interception on defense.
