BREAKDOWN: Barrett is a very consistent and accurate thrower and is also a dual-threat who can pull the ball down and run at anytime. A true leader. He is one of those guys that makes everyone around him better. Because his skills are balanced so equally he is exactly the type of prospect that many offensive coordinators are searching for to run their spread style offenses. He does not have a rocket, but can make throws and has touch on his deep ball. - Greg Powers
Projecting Barrett At Ohio State: Barrett fits what Urban Meyer wants to do perfectly, and he's the kind of quarterback you would expect him to recruit. He is an athlete at the position, but he is also a true quarterback. He's going to sit back in the pocket and pick defenses apart. He wants to be in the pocket and make throws, before he wants to run. If things break down, he can get out of trouble or throw on the run. He's not an athlete playing quarterback, but rather a quarterback who's a good athlete. That fits in with what Meyer expects from his quarterback. I expect him to be a starter at Ohio State, and a legitimate successor to Braxton Miller. - Greg Powers
Barrett On Choosing Ohio State: "OSU felt right," he said. "Honestly, to myself, I'd been committed to Ohio State two weeks ago."
"I have so many offers, so many opportunities, and I'm so blessed. But I know Ohio State is the place for me and where God needs me to go. I feel good about it."
Barrett declared he will not be making visits elsewhere.
"In the summer I'll go back to Ohio State and work out with Coach Herman and Coach Meyer, and then in the fall make my official visit up there. But other than that, that's it. I'm not going to visit anywhere else, or reserve my spot anywhere else. I don't want to do that to another program. I'm not going to waste anyone's time. I know I don't like my time wasted, so I'm not going to do that to someone else."
