Bank Blog: Monday Recruiting Update

Monday is the start of the dead period in college recruiting, but you can be sure the information train is still rolling down the tracks. Where does Ohio State stand with the remaining prospects on their board?

There are six primary targets for Ohio State entering the dead period of recruiting, and one of them will make his intentions known Monday evening.

What is the latest news on each player left on the board for Ohio State? When will they make their announcements?

Dontre Wilson: This one has been trending Ohio State's way since the day Chip Kelly left Oregon for the NFL, and major props to Urban Meyer and Tom Herman for their efforts. All signs today are pointing toward Wilson heading to Columbus, and this would be huge news if true. ANNOUNCEMENT: Wilson will make his choice public Monday evening at 9 p.m. Central time.

James Clark: Have never felt the Buckeyes ever had much of a shot with the wide receiver, but to their credit they fought it to the wire. There is no reason to think James Clark will not be signing with Florida, and his recent visit confirmed that for him. ANNOUNCEMENT: Clark will be making his decision public Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Vonn Bell: Since spending time with Bell in Orlando for the Under Armour All-America game, I've always had the Buckeyes as strong contenders for the five-star safety. Bell seems like a perfect fit for Ohio State, and Meyer and Company have done a great recruiting job with him. This one is probably down to Ohio State and Tennessee, with the Buckeyes possibly having a slight edge. ANNOUNCEMENT: Bell will announce Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Ezekiel Elliott: From all indications, Ohio State has this one back under control and there is no reason to think Elliott will be signing with anyone but the Buckeyes. Does Ohio State still sign Elliott even with Dontre Wilson in the fold? Yes. ANNOUNCEMENT: Elliott will make his final decision Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Donovan Munger: All things were put in order within a week of the Florida State visit, when Urban Meyer and Mike Vrabel sat down with Munger. There is no reason to think there is anything to worry about for Buckeye fans at this point. ANNOUNCEMENT: Munger is in Texas for an All-Star game, and will fax his letter from there. There is no known announcement pending.

Trey Johnson: Of the three commits that took recent visits, Johnson seemed like the one to worry about, but late information has Ohio State back in the driver's seat. Johnson has been communicating with a few Ohio State commits, and assistant coach Luke Fickell spent a productive day with Johnson last Friday. Have to believe that put Johnson back in the fold. ANNOUNCEMENT: There have been conflicting stories regarding an announcement, so at this time we will put that on hold.
