Matich Has Solid Relationship With Spartans

After making a statement with his performance at the Midwest Elite Big Man Camp on Sunday, Nick Matich updated his recruiting and the relationship he's building with Michigan State.

Sunday proved to be an extremely good day for Clarkston (Mich.) lineman Nick Matich as he showed off his skill set as a defensive lineman during the Midwest Elite Big Man Camp in Wixom, Michigan.

Why did the 6-foot-3, 260-pound two-way lineman felt the need to be in attendance?

"Today was a good chance to see the competition around the state and see how everybody was doing and where I need to be," said Matich. "I felt this offseason I've been doing pretty good but know I need to keep working."

After a solid showing Matich is looking to add to his offer list that stands at one presently.

"I have an offer from Toledo," said Matich. "I've visited Michigan State a bunch of times along with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. It's kind of like a waiting game right now."

As for the Spartans, Matich feels he's built a solid relationship with one of the coaches.

"I have a good relationship with Michigan State running back coach Brad Salem," explained Matich. "I talk with him a couple of times a week about where I need to be. Its Big Ten football and Michigan State is the number one school I would like to attend."

What id Matich looking for in a school?

"The first thing I'll be looking at is academics," said Matich. "I'm looking to study pharmaceuticals and then second would be the coaches and how they interact."
