Andrews 'likes everything' about Notre Dame
Scottsdale (Ariz.) wide receiver Mark Andrews has over 15 offers, and will probably add more to that list in the months to come. However, Notre Dame has let the Desert Mountain standout know he's wanted in South Bend. "I talked to Coach Kelly recently, and he said I'm a priority for Notre Dame and that he really wants me," Andrews said. Though he doesn't have an early list of favorites, four schools are expressing interest more so than others. "I would say that Notre Dame, UCLA, Oklahoma and Arizona are recruiting me the hardest," he said. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound wide receiver is in the process of planning his schedule this spring, and so far, Andrews knows that Notre Dame and Oklahoma will most certainly be on the agenda. Even though a busy spring is planned, Andrews doesn't plan on choosing a school until his senior year. "I won't make a decision any time soon," Andrews said. "I'll probably take all five of my official visits in the fall. I'm not sure yet who will get officials." Why are the Irish getting a spring visit from the talented wide out? "I like Notre Dame's tradition," Andrews said. "They have good academics, which is something that will be huge in my final decision. I really like everything. I can see myself there." Andrews listed a few criteria that will factor into his decision. "Being close to home is something that would be nice, but I'm not going to base my decision on that," Andrews said. "I'm going to focus on my relationship with the coaching staff and what kind of offense a team runs. In high school, we run the spread and we get the ball in our wide receivers' hands. With an ideal height and frame for creating mismatches in the flats as well as on a short field, how does Andrews see himself fitting into a college system? "I'll be playing wide receiver and maybe some H-back split wide," he said. Mostly wide receiver though, I'm not being recruited for anything else really, like tight end." Andrews is a four-star prospect and the No. 10 wide receiver in the 2014 class.
