Harris Has Two at the Top

Madison Southern (Ky.) class of 2015 running back Damien Harris recently had two good visits with Kentucky and Ohio State. Did that change anything at the top of his list?

Madison Southern's Damien Harris is one of the top young running backs in the country, and recently took a couple of visits to schools who have already offered him.

Last weekend, the 5'11, 195-lb Harris went down to Columbus and had a good visit with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

"It went really well. They're the type of school where it's hard to say no too. They have a lot of things to back up what they say and it's hard to not say yes to them."

Harris visited earlier in the fall for a game, but he had much more of a chance to interact with the coaches this time.

"Yeah, I went to the game where they played Michigan but I didn't get to spend much time. This time, that's pretty much all I did the whole time, so it was a different experience and I think it was better than the first one."

The Buckeye coaches' message to Harris?

"They just talking about how their building the program and how it was really only their first year there and saying they're going to do things not just with sports, but with academics too."

Before that trip, Harris visited Kentucky, another experience he says was different in a good way.

"I just feel like they're changing program around. Coach Stoops is doing all the right things he needs to do to turn it around. It was a good atmosphere. It had a different feel from the first time. It felt a lot better."

As far as future visits, Harris said, "Not that I know of, but I'm going to visit a few places for spring ball. I think we're going to Florida and South Carolina."

Then there is the million dollar question, what does the top of his list look like?

"I'm going to have to say that Ohio State and Michigan are still neck and neck. I don't want to say one is above the other. They're tied."
