2014: Washington, D.C., "Players to Know"

The 2014 recruiting season is front-and-center, and as we jump deep into it, FOXSportsNEXT takes you around the northeast region. The "Names to Know" series continues with the 2014 players in Washington, D.C.'s class.

The 2013 class is signed and schools are digging into the 2014 class. FOXSportsNEXT is taking a look at "Players to Know" in the 2014, and the lists is being broken into groups in the northeast region.

Each player on this list is being recruited by or holds offers from FBS schools, with many of them holding double digit verbal offers. Take at look at eight players (listed alphabetically) everyone should know in Washington, D.C.

Daejuan Funderburk, S, Friendship Collegiate
Skinny: The big safety holds seven offers, including from a pair of Big Ten-to-be schools in Maryland and Rutgers. Georgia Tech, Florida State and Tennessee also are part of his seven offers. He can cover and can play a physical style of play. He wants to visit several of the schools this spring.

Jonathan Haden, RB, Friendship Collegiate
Skinny: Division I football runs in the Haden family, and the latest in the line is Jonathan, a talented running back at one of the most talented programs in the region. He is getting a plethora of looks, and holds offers from Kentucky, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Ohio and Old Dominion.

D'Andre Payne, CB, Friendship Collegiate
Skinny: Payne has offer and offer on an impressive list of suitors, but he said he is yet to trim is vast list. He visited Maryland recently and will make plenty of other visits this spring. He also made a bundle of unofficial visits, including Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State.

Jalen Tabor, CB, Friendship Collegiate
Skinny: Tabor is one of the most decorated prospects in the region when it comes to offers, and the four-star cornerback can have nearly his pick of schools. He said last month is top schools were Florida, Alabama and Notre Dame, but the Gators could be a tough one to beat in this one.

Miles Taylor, S, Gonzaga
Skinny: Taylor picked up an offer from Georgia Tech recently to go with the one he had from Temple, and he is also being recruited by Maryland and Virginia.

Omar Truitt, CB, St. John's College
Skinny: Recruiting has slowed a bit since Truitt picked up early offers from the former Syracuse staff and Richmond. However, he is in contact with a number of schools, including Rutgers, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Miami, Notre Dame and Maryland. He is also versatile, and could be used as a receiver as well as a defensive back.

William Ulmer, QB, St. John's College
Skinny: The top quarterback in Washington, D.C., holds nine offers and Boston College is recruiting him hard. He knows the staff from Temple. He is also looking hard at Maryland and Georgia Tech is showing him plenty of interest.

Devin Williams, LB, St. John's College
Skinny: The linebacker was committed to Stanford, but that changed earlier this month when both sides decided it was best to go their separate ways. He does not have any offers now, but that should change in the coming weeks and months.
