Darlington Talks OSU Offer

Ohio State has been relatively quiet in their efforts to recruit a quarterback for the 2014 class so far, but things broke loose this past week. The Buckeyes issued three quarterback offers this past week, including Zack Darlington.

Last Wednesday Tom Herman was in Florida to check out Apopka quarterback Zack Darlington. The sunshine state prospect has offers from schools such as Arizona, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia but his workout in front of Herman was his chance to impress the Buckeyes' assistant.

"I thought it went well," said Darlington. "I felt accurate and fast."

Ohio State had already offered two quarterbacks in the week, but quickly added to that number after seeing the Apopka product.

"Lucky for me, my coach is my dad," Darlington mentioned. "It makes things nicer. Coach Meyer told my dad that he wanted me to call him. So I did, got the offer, and he said that when he talked to Coach Herman about me, I reminded him of Tim Tebow. He said that is when he realized he needed to get me up there."

The Ohio State offer was an important accomplishment for Darlington.

"I loved it," the Florida native stated. "I had been working very hard to get this offer. It's one I've wanted for a long time and I'm amazed at how blessed I am." Despite Ohio State being an offer he wanted and had been working for, Darlington was reluctant to name any leaders.

"They are a huge school and I like them," he explained. "I just want to visit before I say them or anyone else is my favorite."

Has a visit already been set to check out the Buckeyes?

"We are in the middle of working out the date to get up there," Darlington noted. "I definitely plan on it."
