Buckeyes Offer Another Georgia DB

Urban Meyer has certainly made Ohio State a recruiting presence in the state of Georgia, and the Buckeyes have extended several offers for the 2014 class. Defensive back Jared Tucker is the latest.

Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson CB Jared Tucker is a prospect that has seen increased attention from college programs of late. Many schools have come by the school to get the scoop on the three-star cornerback.

"It's been awesome lately," said the Georgia native. "Mississippi State, Miami, West Virginia, Wake Forest, and Ohio State have all offered me within the last few weeks."

The Ohio State offer took Tucker by surprise but he will keep an eye on them and have them under consideration.

"I found out from my coach about the offer," Tucker stated. "Coach (Everett) Withers informed my coach that they were offering me. I was really excited and honored about it. I'm going to look more into them now."

"They like my versatility because I can play corner or safety," he continued. "My size and speed stick out and I just finished track so they've been looking at my results."

Tucker made note about a couple specific aspect that attracts him to the Ohio State program.

"I've watched Ohio State a couple times against schools like Indiana and Michigan State, and I like the defense they run," he explained. "I know they got a safety from Georgia and that makes me want to look into them a bit more."

The 6-foot, 170 pound prospect has a plan of how he will approach the rest of his recruitment.

"I'm considering all the schools that are showing interest in me right now but I will narrow it down some once I take summer visits," Tucker said. "I want to go on a visit to Ohio State definitely, and also Mississippi State, Miami, and then Vanderbilt again."
