Eagles Offer Talented '15 RB

Southern Miss has thrown its hat in the ring to a talented Phenix City (AL) RB. He talked about his offer and where he stands very early in the process with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Traveon Samuel is a RB from the class of 2015 that is drawing interest from just about everywhere. Already holding multiple offers, the blazing fast 5'8 RB picked up another one from the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss.

"Really been taking a week off, still working out, trying to get a little of work in even though I'm still in the early stages of the summer," Samuel updated us.

"The coach at Southern Miss came by and made an offer so I was very excited and humbled by that.

"It was a great feeling, they came to our spring game, and I returned a punt to end the game. The coach told me, 'One day you'll be returning kicks for the black and gold.'"

Samuel is an electric offensive player who can do it all. He has seen time at running back, slot receiver, quarterback, and returning kicks and punts.

Name a school, and Samuel has probably received an offer from them. He's recently picked up offers from Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Duke, and Clemson among others.

Through all the early attention, he's maintained a humble approach to the recruiting process.

"I'm really grateful and thankful, and I've worked hard to put myself in the place where I am now," he said. "I know I have to keep working, I haven't achieved anything yet.

"I'm going to be looking for a school where I can find a great education, and spend four years where I have fun playing the game of football. I want an offense where I can showcase what I can do, as well."

He'll be one of the top prospects in the state of Alabama in the 2015 recruiting class, and we'll continue to follow him closely.
