Clemson coaches impress Brown

Dabo Swinney and Marion Hobby have combined to make Clemson a serious player for 2015 defensive end George Brown.

The Winton Woods High School [Cincinnati, Ohio] junior visited Clemson last week for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

"It was really good. I got to hang out with coach Hobby and coach Swinney for a while, talk with them. I got to meet a few of their players," Brown told CUTigers on Friday night.

He added, "This morning, at 5:30, I got up and went to go watch the team workout."

What stands out about Clemson?

"I just love coach Hobby and coach Swinney. They're really cool coaches. We have a good relationship right now."

Working on the field with Hobby was a plus.

"It was a great experience getting to work with him. He teaches things really well. That's a plus. It feels like I would be a good player," Brown said.

Later this summer, he'll make camp stops at Ohio State and Michigan State. Those are the only campus visits he's got scheduled, so far.

With over 20 offers to his name, Brown has yet to figure out a pecking order to his options.

"I don't have any favorites right now," he said. "Clemson is in my tops right now. I don't have a top 10 or anything."

Last week's visit, plus his March trip to Clemson have helped the Tigers.

"On my first visit, I liked them a lot. I just have a good vibe with the coaches. I like the coaches a lot," Brown said.

There is no timeline to narrow his options.

"I just have to take things one day at a time and see how things go," Brown said. "I'm going to try and get out and see as many colleges as I can, just get a feel for the coaches and the team."
