Edoga gets Ohio State offer

2015 offensive tackle Chuma Edoga recently picked up a new offer from Ohio State. He talks about the Buckeyes and a possible upcoming visit.

Powder Springs (GA) McEachern offensive tackle Chuma Edoga made the initial 2015 Scout 300 and holds many offers. He picked up another scholarship offer recently to add to his collection.

Ohio State offered Edoga early on Sunday. The Buckeyes' staff saw him in the spring during the evaluation period when they offered his teammate, Taj Griffin.

Already holding a ton of offers, the offer from the Buckeyes still gave Edoga the excitement the others held.

"I was real excited to get this one," he said of the Ohio State offer. "Ohio State has been one of my favorite teams so it is good to get that offer."

"Coach Pantoni got in touch with me and made sure I knew they were offering me," he added. "I don't know a ton about them other than what have seen on television. They win a lot of games and compete for a lot of championships so you know it is a great program."

A visit to Ohio State may be in the plans for Edoga and a fellow teammate who also holds an offer from the Buckeyes.

"Me and Taj (Griffin) have already talked about Ohio State together since we both have been offered by them," commented Edoga. "We have mentioned visiting them this season, actually. Hopefully we can make that happen because it is a school we feel we should definitely check out. One of the night games might work."

The Buckeyes had been in contact with Edoga prior to his offer. He discussed that and his familiarity with the school.

"Ohio State recruits in Georgia a lot so I'm familiar with them," he pointed out. "They showed me a little interest in the spring so I already knew Coach (Stan) Drayton. Surprisingly, there is quite a bit of Ohio State fans in Georgia so they're kind of a school I hear about a lot. They also went undefeated last year and have a chance to this year so that factors into it all too."

"Ohio State is right up there with Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan right now," Edoga admitted.
